It is easy to get stuck in a bit of a make-up rut, especially when it comes to your choice of eyeliner.

So this summer, try to mix things up a bit and say goodbye to your trusty black liner in favour of a more natural shade.

If you are reluctant to let go of your favourite liner, the following will hopefully convince you:

1. It's a lot softer

Unless you are sallow-skinned with dark eyes, black eyeliner can look a little harsh, so swap it up for a brown, at least during the day.

2. It can make your eyes pop

Depending in your eyeshadow, using brown eyeliner can really make your eyes pop. It also complements and enhances those with baby blue, green or hazel eyes.

3. Makes your eyes look bigger

Sometimes black eyeliner can make your eyes look small and dark, especially if overly applied. But, being a little lighter, brown eyeliner can help make your eyes look a lot wider.

4. Provides definition

You don’t need to stick with black to define your eyes, a dark brown can do the trick and look a lot more natural.
