All too often we read interviews in which celebrities malign the aging process, but this could not be further from the case for Rachel Stevens.
The former S Club 7 star, who is about to begin a stint on Celebrity Masterchef, has won praise for her comments on her looks and confidence as she heads towards 40.
The 39-year-old mum-of-two told The Sun: “It’s lovely that people still view me as a sex symbol. But I definitely feel like I’ve got more confident and sexier as I’ve got older.
“Your body is always changing, which is great, but you know more what you want out of life, and that inner confidence gives you more sexiness.”
Rachel, who was previously voted as FHM’s Sexiest Woman of All Time, did however admit that she would never say no to a nip and tuck in the future.
“I haven’t thought about surgery now, but who knows further down the line? I don’t rule it out for when I’m older.”
Rachel, who is married to actor Alex Bourne, has two daughters: six-year-old Amelia, and three-year-old Minnie.
The former pop star has previously had to defend herself against criticism of her parenting, after being photographed leaving her two little ones alone in her car as she ran errands.
In an interview with Essentials magazine, Rachel conceded that her parenting choices would never please everyone.
“Parenting is always going to split judgement, and you never have all the answers. I would never do anything to intentionally harm my girls; they are my life,” she said.
“Whatever you do as a parent, you will be judged by other people. You can only do your best.
Rachel will be on our screens for the latest instalment of Celebrity Masterchef, in which she will be putting her culinary talents to the test against fellow celebs.
The line-up also includes comedian Vic Reeves, snooker champ Stephen Hendry, TV presenter Angelica Bell, and Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington.
