According to reports, actor Jim Carrey’s on-off girlfriend, Cathriona White, has passed away after committing suicide.
The sad news was first shared by entertainment site TMZ, which confirmed that the Los Angeles Police Department had responded to a call on Monday evening. They claim that the body of Irish 28-year-old White was found at the residence in question.
The site goes on to report that a suspected drug overdose was involved in the death. It is believed that two of White’s friends found her at the scene and contacted the police.
White met Carrey back in 2012, and the pair began dating shortly after. While the pair split after a few months together, they were said to have rekindled their romance in May of this year. Sources today claim that the pair broke up again last week, although this has not been confirmed.
Carrey, who was previously married to Melissa Womer, is a father to 28-year-old daughter Jane.
