Any parent who has gone through a divorce will know that one of the hardest parts is helping your children to cope, and Demi Moore has revealed the impact that her divorce from Bruce Willis had on their three daughters.

Singling out her eldest daughter Rumer, who is now 26 years old, Demi gave a heartbreaking insight into what the actress and reality star went through.

“When their father and I decided to divorce it probably had the biggest impact on her. The struggle became more pronounced as Rumer suffered public scrutiny for her appearance in the midst of her adolescence,” the 52-year-old said.

Demi’s comments came during a candid interview on Dancing With the Stars, which Rumer starred in this season.

“Media attention is tough when you are a kid; it is definitely weird to have that be such public knowledge…There really wasn’t anything I could do to stop it. Her self-esteem was nothing. I could only just keep loving her until she could love herself,” she added.

Demi and Bruce, who divorced in 2000 after almost 13 years of marriage, are also parents to 23-year-old Scout and 21-year-old Tallulah.
