He is already a doting dad-of-four, and now former footballer David Beckham can add another title to his name – godfather.

On the same day that it was revealed that Blake Lively has chosen her former co-stars to be her daughter’s godmothers, it has emerged that Liv Tyler and her partner David Gardner have asked David Beckham to be godfather to their newborn son, Sailor.

New dad David is a long-time friend of the former football star and, according to reports, the couple have chosen Beckham as they think he will be a “great influence” on their son.

A source told The Sun: “Becks and Dave are close pals and go back years. They speak to each other all the time and their families are well connected. They were best men for each other’s weddings, so are involved in their major events.”

Given just how devoted David is to his three sons and daughter, we think Liv and David have made a wonderful choice.

Liv and David welcomed baby Sailor back in February, six weeks ahead of their little one’s due date. Liv is already mum to 10-year-old son Milo, while Dave is also dad to seven-year-old son Gray.
