Controversial personality Katie Hopkins just loves to dish out the insults and unfortunately mum-of-one Kelly Clarkson was the latest person to bear the brunt of Katie's vicious tongue.

Kelly's recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show appeared to offend mum-of-three Katie who felt compelled to comment on the performers weight, saying: "Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all her backing singers?"

Katie wasn't content to post just one offensive comment, however, and went further still, jeering: "Happily I have a wide-screen. #grahamnorton."

Outraged on new mum Kelly's behalf, members of the public took to Twitter to defend the singer and call Katie out on her unnecessary remarks at the same time.

Perhaps unsurprisingly Katie wasn't the slightest bit put out by the backlash she received following her unkind comments, saying: "Darling, if you had a baby a year ago, that is not baby weight. Quit calling it cute names to make yourself feel better."

Determined to hammer home her point, Katie went on to say: "Baby weight, puppy fat, muffin top. We're so weak willed we have to make up cute names for fat."

Kelly hasn't dignified Katie's crude remarks with a response, but something tells us the Texan star knows better than to tie herself in knots over such mean-spirited behaviour.
