A mother has become a viral internet sensation after her car advert seeking a new kidney for her sick daughter caught the public’s eye.
Karol Franks’ daughter Jenna has suffered from kidney failure for 15 years, and she has been undergoing daily dialysis treatments since the age of 14.
While the traditional methods of searching for a new kidney appear to have failed, Karol is determined to find a suitable donor for Jenna, and she recently decided to pull out a more extreme ploy in order to get help.
Karol painted a message onto her husband’s car window, reading: “Daughter needs kidney. Type O. KIDNEY4JENNA@gmail.com.”
After a stranger took a snapshot of the car and posted it to social media, Karol’s message and story quickly began to go viral – and it looks as though they could be on the verge of a breakthrough.
According to Jenna’s dad, Edward, 25 potential donors have already come forward and volunteered to get tested.
“How ironic that something as simple and old-fashioned as a sign on the back window explodes into this sensation,” said Edward.
