Sources have today claimed that mother-of-one Donna is ‘heartbroken’ after James – who is the brother of the Duchess of Cambridge – recently called time on their two-year romance.
A source broke the news to The Sun, saying: “The split happened a couple of weeks ago and it was James’ decision. He just didn’t think it was going to go the distance.”
In a surprise revelation, the source added: “I think his family were always very anti her being the future Queen of England’s sister-in-law.”
Many believe that the 36-year-old’s latest Instagram post is a cryptic message regarding her split from James.
The message, written on a chalkboard, reads: “Accept what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be (even those itchy ears).”
James and Donna went public with their romance back in February 2013, after much speculation.
Donna is mum to 12-year-old Freya; her daughter from her relationship with Damian Aspinall.
