You asked

Should I always wear SPF?

Simply put, yes.

UVA rays are present with relatively equal intensity during all daylight hours throughout the year, and can penetrate clouds and glass. These rays play a major part in premature ageing of the skin. The intensity of UVB rays varies depending on the season, location, and time of day. These rays are those that cause redness and burn.

Therefore, It is important that we apply SPF to all exposed body parts, most importantly the face. Many moisturisers and foundations come with SPF 15 and protection from UVA and UVB rays included.

If you are applying a sun cream while also wearing makeup, be sure to apply the sun cream first. This allows it to absorb into the skin and will provide adequate protection throughout the day.
