Just days after reality TV star queen, Kim Kardashian West, opened up about the negative effect body shaming had on her while expecting her first child, the wife of world-famous rapper, Kanye West, was subject to the same intense scrutiny at last night's MTV Video Music Awards.
34-year-old Kim, who overcame numerous fertility struggles in order to conceive her second child with husband of one year, Kanye, showcased her stunning curves in a fitted, khaki dress for the big event, but it seems the expectant mum's decision to flaunt her beautiful figure was met with disdain by members of the public.
Taking to Twitter to air their views on Kim's appearance, one social media user referred to the television star's curvaceous derriere, writing : "Lordy. Is Kim Kardashian's baby bump growing out in the opposite direction?"
In a similar vein, other social media users compared pregnant Kim's appearance to that of large wild animal's - a jibe which would hurt even the most confident mum-to-be.
Thankfully, supporters of Kim (and women everywhere) were quick to leap to the mum's defense, with one member of the public writing: "I will f**king delete my account if one more person body shames Kim K. She is pregnant, like, sorry she doesn't weight 90 pounds???"
"How are people really gonna make jokes about Kim Kardashian's weight when... she's... carrying another HUMAN... inside of her...," wrote another incensed Twitter user.
For what it's worth, we think Kim looked absolutely stunning last night.
