It certainly has been a bittersweet and difficult time for him, and the latest admission by actor Vin Diesel is just heartbreaking.
The Fast & Furious star, who has been paying tribute to his late co-star and friend Paul Walker, admitted this week that Walker became a role model for him when it came to parenthood.
Indeed, the father-of-three has credited Walker as being his “guide into fatherhood”, and the person who insisted that he was there for his second child’s birth.
Diesel, who recently welcomed a daughter, told Today: “He went into fatherhood a lot earlier than I did. He took on that role, of kind of being the guide into fatherhood for me. It’s kind of beautiful.”

He added: “The one thing Paul always wanted me to do was be present at my child’s birth. He was so adamant about it.”
In a truly heartbreaking admission, he added that his thoughts turned to his deceased friend while cutting the umbilical cord of his daughter, whom he named Pauline in his honour.

“There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just thought…I knew he was there and it felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world,” said the actor.
What a touching tribute. Clearly Paul will have a lasting impact on him and his family.
