She has always spoken passionately on the subject of her son’s illness before, and this time around, Katie Price was accompanied by young Harvey as they gave an insight into their life together.

Model and reality star Katie sat down with the 12-year-old on the This Morning couch to discuss his life with a rare genetic condition named Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS).

Harvey, who is on the autism spectrum, has limited vision and is on six types of life-saving medication, proved a hit with viewers, particularly as he referred to his mum as “babe”.

Opening up on their family life, mother-of-five Katie told show host Ruth Langsford: “People say, ‘How do you cope?’ But I don’t know any different. He is hard work, he does play up for mummy sometimes, don’t you, Harvey?”

She gave an insight into the daily struggle that Harvey faces, touching on his hunger, which is a symptom of his condition.

“He just wants to eat, eat, eat, and if we’re not looking, he will steal food. He’s a big boy because of his thyroid, and PWS is about food,” she added.

Despite the incredible difficulties he faces, however, proud mum Katie admitted that he is delightful company. As well as playing instruments such as the piano and drums, she revealed that he also loves to draw.

While she has her fair share of critics, no one can say she is not devoted to her children.
