It has been an incredibly difficult and dramatic few weeks for this star and her family, and according to reports today, there has been yet more heartbreak.
Just a fortnight after presenter and comedienne Rosie O’Donnell’s teenage daughter went missing, she is reported to have left her family home to go and live with her birth mother.
Chelsea O’Donnell, 18, made headlines around the world earlier this month when she was reported missing for almost a week, only to be later found at the home of a man she allegedly met through Tinder. The man, named by police as Steven Sheerer, was later arrested and charged over sending inappropriate photos to the then-17-year-old.
It seems that tensions between Rosie and her daughter were high however, and Us Weekly reported today that Chelsea has left the family home to return to her biological mother, Deanna Micoley.
Confirming the news, Rosie’s rep told the publication: “Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother. This was her choice.”
The news comes just months after Micoley made shocking claims against O’Donnell over the adoption of her daughter. In an interview with Radar Online, Micoley said that due to a substance addiction at the time of Chelsea’s adoption, she was “in no condition” to give up her daughter.
“I believe Rosie O’Donnell knew that I was in no condition to sign away my parental rights to my daughter. She did the worst thing one woman can do to another woman – take her child,” she told the publication.
