We previously reported on the bitter court battle that has ensued between Hollywood star Sofia Vergara and former partner Nick Loeb, and now the businessman has hit out against criticism of his stance.

The 39-year-old is currently locked in a lawsuit with the Modern Family actress, with the pair unable to come to an agreement over embryos they created together during their four-year on-off relationship.

Nick has been on the receiving end of criticism for wanting to keep the embryos, but was defiant in his latest interview on the topic.

Opening up to The New York Times, Nick insisted that he will not change his views on the subject, as the issues of parenthood, religion and life are too important.

“Many have asked me: Why not just move on and have a family of your own? I have every intention of doing so. But that doesn’t mean I should let the two lives I have already created be destroyed or sit in a freezer until the end of time,” he said.

A representative for Vergara said that reports the actress wants to have the embryos destroyed are completely false, but the star has yet to publicly address Loeb’s comments.

Vergara is now engaged to Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello, with reports claiming that the pair are considering surrogacy to start a family together.
