According to reports, Carey Mulligan, who is married to Mumford and Son’s Marcus Mumford, is said to have given birth to her first baby in September.
However, considering the Suffragette star never confirmed that she was actually expecting, it is not surprising that neither she nor Marcus revealed that they had become parents.
“Carey has given birth to a healthy and happy baby. She is just enjoying this time with her family and close friends,” a source told E! News.
The notoriously private actress was spotted on the red carpet with Meryl Streep at the opening of the 59th BFI London Film Festival today, but never once mentioned her new arrival.
The 30-year-old's pregnancy was revealed in April of this year, with a source telling Star magazine: “The thing with these two is that they are extremely private people. So they are holding out on the announcement until Carey starts showing. Rest assured, though, the surprise was a welcome one.”
Carey and Marcus met when they were kids and, despite losing touch for a number of years, married in 2012 after they both finished working on Inside Llewyn Davis.
