A year-and-a-half on from a devastating family bereavement, this world-famous philanthropist and musician has tied the knot in a romantic ceremony on the French Riviera.

Bob Geldof, who tragically lost his daughter, Peaches Geldof, from a heroin overdose in 2014, yesterday said 'I do' to long-term girlfriend, Jeanne Marine.

Attending the event which was held at a beach-front house in Nice, Bob's two daughters with the late Paula Yates, Fifi and Pixie, celebrated as they watched their father exchange vows with 49-year-old Jeanne.

The couple had sent the rumour mill into overdrive earlier this year when it was reported they had already tied the knot, but according to a source, 63-year-old Bob and his partner were merely completing paperwork in preparation for yesterday's big day.

Elaborating on the process involved, an insider told the Sunday Mirror: "In France a formal wedding has usually two parts, and this weekend was the main event."

Bob's special day came just two days after the 15th anniversary of his ex-wife's fatal heroin overdose - an event which was marked by their daughter, Fifi, in a heartfelt Facebook post in recent days,

Bob became the legal guardian of Tiger Lily- Paula's daughter with the late INXS frontman Micheal Hutchence - following her parents' respective deaths and lives with both her and Jeanne in Battersea.

Wishing them all the very best with this exciting new chapter.
