Having been nominated for an Academy Award for her role in The Piano at age 11, Anna Paquin knows how difficult it can be to constantly find yourself in the public eye.

In a recent interview with TODAY Parents, the 35-year-old revealed that she and husband Stephen Moyer keep their twins Charlie and Poppy out of the spotlight because they want their children to have a say in what remains private or public in their lives.

"Everyone chooses what works for their family," she told TODAY Parents, "There are aspects of one's private life that are fun and cute and not too revealing. And then there's stuff where you're making decisions for people who don't have a say yet about whether they want to be in the public eye."

"I've always been very private. I'm not as neurotic about it as I was when I was younger. I don't want people to know too much about my real, inner private life," the True Blood star shared.

"That's part of having been a teenager and feeling constantly, brutally self-conscious and not wanting anyone to stare at me but having a job where that was part of it."

The mum is very protective of her 5-year-olds, laughingly telling TODAY Parents, "Don't mess with my cubs."

That statement holds especially true regarding photos of her kids.

While you'll see evidence of her children littered in her and Stephen's photos - a doll here, a baby product there - the couple don't share snaps of their little ones.

"You won't find any pictures of my children," the New Zealand actress said, "That's a choice we made very specifically. I want the right to say that they're not fair game."

As if raising one child out of the spotlight wasn't enough, we're sure it's quite tough with twins to wrangle!

When asked about the difficulty of dealing with multiples, the mum hilariously replied, "How the eff do you raise triplets? It's lucky that you have two hands. You have two boobs, two legs, two hands. Two kids are plenty. I'm exhausted all the time, but the triplet moms don't have enough arms to grab each child."

Anna added, "You figure out where enclosed playgrounds are. It's a bit of a logistical joke."

We definitely admire Anna and all the other parents out there with multiples!
