Well, it's taken a few attempts but I've eventually got this working. My little DS has been using Aveeno Dermexa wash for each bath and the cream after each bath also use the cream each morning, once or twice during the day depending on how her skin is and then each night the improvement is amazing, the redness and dryness cleared up within 2 days of using Aveeno I can't say anything but good things about this cream I was at my wits end trying everything on the market from silkcoc base, Moo Goo etc.
I love Aveeno & so does my little DS Smiling

Hi, I've been using the product for 2 weeks on my 4 month old son. He has ezcema on his arms and legs, sometimes on his back and belly. This product is amazing, saw results after a few days, now his skin is glowing, even after swimming. We used normal Aveeno and Elave before but this was alot better. It was very easy to apply and absorbed great, am trying to fin stockists for it now as I can't see myself using anything else on him. Have already recommeded it to faily and friends. Great Product!

Before taking part in the trial I already used Aveeno cream and skin relief cream myself for a couple of years and found it to be one of only two creams that hydrated my extremely dry skin adequately. My toddler (2 years 10 months) and baby (5 months) also suffer from extremely dry and sensitive skin, which caused them itching and discomfort. I had used a range of creams aimed at children but found them to be average at most. I had used a bit of my own Aveeno on my toddler but was unsure if it was suitable for him. I was really delighted with Aveeno Dermexa - it transformed my toddler's skin which had become dry and rough all over and he now itches much less. The soothing wash was excellent, applied easily and didn't make the water cloudy, which my toddler would object to strongly in his bath! It didn't foam much but I found that it cleaned his skin effectively. The cream was very smooth to apply and seemed to have less of a grainy type residue than I found the standard Aveeno cream to have (a big plus). I will definitely continue to use both the Dermexa wash and cream on both my children and myself and am thrilled to have finally found an answer to the whole family's dry and sensitive skin!

Thank you for my Aveeno Dermexa samples. I have two little girls aged one and two Both have such bad eczema that they have been hospitalized more than once via A&E. It's a constant battle! This has resulted in two woeful sleepers as they tend to scratch all night and bleed etc. They have been seeing a Paediatric Dermatologist every 5 weeks since there were 5 weeks old and have terribly time consuming regime to follow daily including daily baths in Milton (to kill anything living on the skin) and lashings of emollient wash. Constant creaming down during the day /night with an array of cortisone creams and Haldens base emollient cream as the top layer. I was dying to try new products to see if I could step away from the gruelling routine we have at present with heavy duty cortisones etc which I HATE using. I had heard of Aveeno before the trial but had only used the products on myself as skin are range when I was pregnant.

On using the Dermexa wash in the bath, I found it more heavy duty than my usual one so needed less which from a cost point of view is great considering these Milton baths have to be daily. Neither of the girls had a bad reaction to the wash and they didn't appear to scratch themselves as much after the bath which normally they would.

On using the Dermexa cream, the two year old reacted to it and her skin became very red and inflamed but the one year olds skin is beautifully soft after it. The two year old has worse eczema and has always had skin like sandpaper, dry and bumpy whereas the one year old's skin has always been that bit softer. I would definitely continue with the Aveeno for the younger girl if the cost works out similar to what I use currently. However, having said that, the one I use currently I can get prescribed so if its a month where I've already spent the €144 on the Drugs Payment Scheme it would be cheaper to use what I'm currently prescribed as an emollient.

I have used the product on myself when it arrived first as I always the girls products on myself first. I LOVE IT! Gone are the dry Winter shins and red bumpy upper arms. I'm going to continue buying for myself!

I was really delighted to receive the Dermexa products in the post however I was even more delighted when I realised how good these products are. My 2 year old son has eczema flare ups and I have noticed over the last few months from being outside more, that his face would be really red, dry and tight and painful. I began using the wash at bathtime and was surprised at how soft and smooth it left his skin whilst gently cleansing. his skin felt moisturised just out of the bath when using other bath washes his skin would be tight. I then used the emollient cream and found that it really soothed and relieved his dry patches. After using both products together his skin was so moisturised. I myself suffer from patches of psorsias on my knees and elbows and I have also noticed a big difference in my skin. I think I will even be able to wear skirts again in Summer!! I have recommended these products to family and friends and to anybody who wants smooth moisturised skin!! Thank toy mummy pages for bringing these products into my life!!

My daughter has suffered very badly with eczema since she was 3months old. We have tried nearly every brand of cream over the months and the only thing that clears it is a steroid cream that was prescribed. I cant believe the difference since using Aveeno Dermexa. Her skin, which is normally red dry and weeping is almost completely clear without using any steroid. She's sleeping much better now and doesnt have to have anti-histamine at night anymore. Unlike other products we've used, the soothing emollient cream is easily absorbed and her clothes dont stick to it. I will definitely continue to use Aveeno Dermexa products and would highly recommend it.

I started using the Aveeno Dermexa cream on my 23 month old baby three weeks ago and have noticed a dramatic improvement. He suffers from red, itchy, scaly skin on the backs of his knees and his feet, upon applying the cream he is relieved of the itchiness almost immediately. I find the cream to be most effective when it is applied two to three times a day. Of all the other creams and lotions i have used nothing seems to work as quickly. The cream seems to soak into the skin immediately and he often goes and gets it from the change table himself and wants me to put it on for him!
The wash has been excellent for using in the bath. We often found that when using other washes his skin would be more red/irritated when coming out of the bath than when he went in. It washes him well and seems to be quite soothing.
I would highly recommend these two products and will definately continue to use them in the future. Having tried so many creams and lotions it is a relief to finally find something that works.

my 14 month old has had very dry scaly skin on her hands for months, and has been bothering her and interupting her sleep, and mine! i had tried the aveeno menthol cream on my older child and they didnt like it, said it felt funny so i was wary of the dermexa. i have tried other creams, aqueous, oilatum, e45 and none gave much relief
the dermexa started making a difference within 3 ddays! her skin doesnt look as angry or scaly and she has stopped rubbing her hands on the carpet to itch it! i definitley think it has helped and i will certainly be continuing to use it after the trial! i tried it on my 9 year old who had complained about the menthol one, and she found this one much better.

i wasnt too keen on the wash in the bath, it didnt dissolve well and i didnt feel it cleansed her skin as well as others. however i have used it on a damp flannel to clean her hands after eating, playing etc and that way it seems very good and doesnt dry her hands out as plain water did. and as everyone knows little ones need their hands cleaning numerous times during the day!! so will be using the emollient wash for that, but not in the bath.

all in all i found the dermexa very good, will continue using it and would have no hesitation reccomending it to anyone who has a little one with dry sore skin. thanks mummy pages!

I had heard many wonderful thing about the Aveeno brand and how good it was for sensitive skin, so when I saw the Mums Say Trial on MummyPages I jumped at the chance to try in on my 22 month old son.

Little D has many allergies and is quite sensitive to many moisturisers. He never really had that baby-soft skin you see on other children, which upset me. From just a few days old his face, arms and legs were like sandpaper.
Through managing his diet, and with the help of Hydrocortisyl skin ointment and emulsifying ointment I can keep most of his eczema at bay.

Unfortunately Little D had a reaction to one of the ingredients in Aveeno Dermexa and I had to stop using it after just one application. I have to say, though, I was impressed with how it went on, it seemed to soak in to his skin quicker than other mosturisers we have tried.

I was not familiar with this product but from the moment I started to use Aveeno DERMEXA wash and cream I notice an improvement in my sons skin, He suffers with dry skin but more so hard prickly skin. I noticed that the morning after he had his bath and after moisterised him that the prickly feeling on his arms and legs was nearly gone. My son is bathed every night and after 3 nights his skin was as soft as silk. I suffer dry skin myself and noticed that my hands where improving as the cream and bath wash had been getting on them, I would recommend this product to all mothers as it is great on sensitive skin and my son loves it.

My son is 5 mts old and has very dry skin all over his body. He has quite severe eczema on his face and head. For weeks my doctor kept saying to use all the moisutisers out there. But nothing worked. About a week before I got the Aveeno sample, it got so bad on his face that it was bleeding and weeping so I went back to the doctor. I managed to get a steroid cream but was nervous to use that as it was quite strong. The doctor advised that I only use a little on his face for a few days to close up the wounds.

In the meantime, my aveeno sample arrived. I have used aveeno products before and was alwaysd very happy with it. As soon as I got the dermexa I ran him a bath and used the wash. I liked that it wasnt too oily, in my opinion. It didnt feel like he would slip out of my arms. Although the severe eczema was gone from his face, there was still a lot of itchy redness on his head, face, arms and legs. The elbows and backs of his knees and his ankles. These areas were cracking and very sore looking. His back and belly were a little red too but not as sore looking. After his first bath, which was a soak of about ten mins, I already saw a difference. I let him kick about on my bed and dry off and his skin was lovely and soft. I then massaged the lotion, which he loved. I loved the lotion because I felt it moisturised his skin without leaving it greasy.

Other products I used like aquous(sp?) cream felt to greasy and to be honest I felt like they were making his skin clogged up. Elave I found great to offer immediate relief but not really long term.

The day after Tommys first bath in the dermexa, his skin was still a lot calmer. Over the two weeks he is still getting little flare ups but I am thrilled as I genuinely feel that the Aveeno is helping me to keep his eczema under control.

I was in the chemist last week and he had a little flare up on his face, which Im also putting down to teething. The pharmacist asked if I was using anything and was delighted when I told her about the Aveeno. She said the ingredients in it were great!!

Overall I would say the Aveeno has really helped my sons skin. I also have a five year old who gets rough patches on her skin. They dont bother her too much, sometimes she scratches, but her skin is gorgeous since I started using it on her!!

I cannot be sure if there is a connection, but my son has started sleeping through the night the last couple of weeks. He also doesnt wake up with raw patches from scratching in his sleep.

The one problem I had with the product is, Id prefer if the wash and cream came in a pump bottle as then it would be easier to use with one hand!

I havent read other reviews yet but I hope this product worked for everyone. I personally am delighted with it and will continue to use it!

From his first weeks, my son Adam has suffered with eczema and dry skin. A doctor in Temple St said it was the worst case or eczema they had seen in a year. After we got the eczema under control, a dermatologist gave us a plan to manage Adam’s skin going forward. She recommended silcock’s base to be applied as often as we changed him. A friend with a son with eczema who has tried all the creams on the market told me that silcock’s base was the way to go because it works and is affordable. Even better she said was the aveeno range but was much too expensive as she needed to moisturise her baby so many times a day. I tried the silcock’s base and an aqueous cream. In the end, i settled on silcock’s base both for moisturising and bathing. When Adam’s skin is in need of cream, it feels rough -like he is wearing silk tights- not like baby’s skin is supposed to feel. He also gets rough dry patches. While silcock’s base improved his skin, it doesn’t absorb too readily. It leaves a sticky residue and requires much rubbing - which with a squirmy baby, as is my son, can be a bit of a challenge.
I was keen to take part in the Aveeno trial. Now that I have been using both the aveeno oatmeal cream and the wash, i regret not having discovered it sooner. The cream goes on very easily. It warms in my hands and smoothes on his skin and absorbs perfectly. The bath wash is also a very nice product and is easier to manage than what I had been using. I like that is isn’t too sudsy. It’s a very gentle wash very suitable for cleansing my baby’s skin once or twice a week. Since using the Aveeno products, Adam’s skin is noticeably more supple. His dry skin has drastically improved. I’m down to moisturising just twice a day. As yet, there have been no eczema flare ups since we have been using the Aveeno products. He scratches less and therefore is less irritated. My own hands are reaping the benefits as well. It is still more expensive than what i had been using, but as I seem to now need less, I plan to continue using the aveeno cream and bath wash.

As soon as I started using Aveeno DERMEXA on my little girl I have noticed a HUGE improvement in her skin. She had very bad dry, rough patches of skin on her belly and arms but within a week they were practically gone. Previous to this I was only applying Silcocks base and sudocreme which were doing nothing for her. Her skin is now very soft & smooth. I have used it on myself also and found the results fantastic. I will definitely be continuing to use this on all the family and would highly recommend it!
