Britney Spears has been fighting over child support with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, for months.

The singers were married back in 2004 and tragically, after three years of marriage, the couple just could not make their relationship work anymore, divorcing in 2007.

The couple shares two kids: Sean Preston, 12, and Jayden James, 11.

Since the stars' split, Britney has reportedly been paying over €18,000 a month for her sons’ expenses.

But it seems that her ex-husband wants more.

According to legal documents obtained by E! News, the rapper is demanding an increase to over €52,000 in monthly, child support payments.

The father currently lives with his wife Victoria Prince and his six children: two from his current marriage, two from his relationship with Britney, and two from a former relationship with Shar Jackson.

So there is no doubt that his 2,000 square foot home is a bit crowded compared to Britney's 13,264 square foot mansion.

He makes this argument in the documents, saying that it is unfair for Sean and Jayden to have such different experiences when spending time with each parent.

The former backup dancer stressed the importance of providing comparable life styles for their kids, explaining that with more monthly income, he could slightly close the wide financial gap between him and their mum.

The Baby One More Time singer has also been ordered to pay Kevin almost €100,000 for legal costs and fees until they can come to an agreement regarding child support payments.

While arguments continue, Britney has yet to publicly comment on her ex-husband’s demands, choosing instead to focus on spending time with her sons.

Divorce settlements can be difficult for children to cope with, especially when under the Hollywood spotlight.

All we can do is hope the parents settle their dispute soon and that the delicate situation results in a happy outcome for the two boys.
