Parenting with a partner requires a delicate balance of responsibility, and when you throw in career ambitions it can feel like you're walking on a tightrope in a windstorm. Well, Peter Andre and his 28-year-old wife Emily Andrea are leading by example with their encouragement of one another's career goals.

Emily is back on the wards as a junior doctor this week as her maternity leave ends, The Sun reports. She gave birth to their second child together, Theo, on November 22 last year, and has been on leave since then.

Fans wondered whether being the wife of a famous crooner would hold the junior doctor back, but Peter opened up in his column in New Magazine about his support for his wife's career.

He wrote, "Emily starts back at work this week and I’m buzzing for her. She was always going back and I guess it was difficult when people questioned her about giving up her career now she’s married to me.

“She had a well-justified maternity leave and now she’s ready to go back.”

The 44-year-old singer also revealed that he's excited to be the one mainly in charge of Theo for the time being.

The father-of-four said, “Theo’s still clingy, but I think Em's working again will be good for him. Plus, I think the roles will reverse now for December and I can’t wait to hold the fort.”

Theo is their youngest, as the couple also have a daughter, Amelia, who will turn four in January. As well, Peter has two children, Junior (12) and Princess (10), with ex-wife Katie Price.

We're happy to see fame isn't getting in the way of Emily's career! Kudos to her and Peter!
