Call The Midwife confirm who will return for the ninth series

We’ve been itching for Call The Midwife to return since the last episode of season eight aired in March.

Every episode of the show has never failed to make us laugh, cry and smile and we only wish there were more episodes in each season.

Luckily, the show will return in the wintertime for the joyous Christmas episode. It is honestly one of the best parts of Christmas Day.

Call The Midwife is such a heartwarming and touching show so watching it on the jolliest days of the year is perfect.

The BBC has given us a glimpse at this year’s Christmas special and it looks like the ladies of Nonnatus House have got themselves into a spot of bother.

This year’s Christmas special will see the midwives follow Mother Mildred on a trip to Outer Hebrides.

The midwives and sisters have to help the residents of the remote island who are desperate for medical help.

But will Trixie, Sister Monica Joan, Phyllis and co. make it back to Poplar in time for Christmas?
