We all know that growing up is hard to do and kids can be cruel without really knowing how much damage they may be causing. Sadly, this is something that Strictly Come Dancing star Peter Andre knows about all too well.

Talking to The Times recently, the father-of-three spoke of how he was bullied and beaten up when his family moved from the UK to Australia when he was just six-years-old.

Explaining how he was targeted because of his Greek-Italian background, the star admitted that he was “picked on” and “beaten up”, saying: “There were no Greeks or Italians, just these blonde-haired beautiful-looking people at school in Oz.”

The 42-year-old, who recently married Emily McDonagh, said that he turned to music to help him block out all the negativity, admitting that he used to dream of becoming a famous performer.

"I would visualise myself being on stage in front of a sell-out crowd. I'd take all the little mirrors from around the house and set them up in the garage so I could see how I was performing and get better."

Despite his breakthrough single Mysterious Girl in 1995, Katie Price’s former husband admitted that he doesn’t have the best singing voice in the world, with his brother even questioning why he thought he would make it.

"I remember my brother Mike telling me loads of times, 'I love you man, but what makes you think you're going to make it? There are so many better musicians, dancers and performers out there, why do you think it's going to be you?' And I couldn't really give him an answer."

Aw, we love Peter!
