Cheryl has hit back at rumours that claim her mum was involved in her split from Liam Payne.
She said her mum had nothing to do with the break down of their relationship. She issued a statement on Twitter expressing her disgust over the rumours.
“I hate responding to stuff, esp at such difficult times but I cannot sit here and listen to such nasty, false articles regarding my mam.”
"I don't know why they involve her in stories about me. I can assure you she has absolutely nothing to do with any of it,” the Fight For This Love singer said.
Cheryl explained that her mum is loving and would never do anything to tarnish her relationship. She stressed that the split was a mutual decision between herself and Liam.
“I am a grown woman who is capable of dealing with my own life,” the singer wrote.

She added: "She is a soft and kind woman who doesn't deserve to be dragged into something that has nothing whatsoever to do with her."
Cheryl and former One Direction member Liam Payne announced their separation on Sunday night. They admitted that it was not an easy decision for either of them to make, but they decided to go their separate ways after two and a half years together.
The singers share a one-year-old son, Bear, together and said that he will always be their priority, regardless of their relationship status: “We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.”
