Modelling seems to run in the family, as far as Cindy Crawford and her daughter Kaia Gerber, 16, and son Presley Gerber, 18, go. The teens are both making waves on the catwalk, even featuring together in a recent Calvin Klein campaign.

However, as a mum, Cindy is understandably concerned about her children entering the world of fashion, especially in the wake of so many models' stories of sexual assault.

“As far as being a mother of two young people going into fashion, of course I worry," the 52-year-old revealed. "But let’s be honest. My kids are blessed in that business because they aren’t coming in as unknowns. People know that I will come after them if they mess with my kids.”

The mum-of-two considers herself 'lucky' that she herself does not have a #MeToo story. However, she expressed in a recent interview with Town & Country that she regrets taking part in naked photo shoots where was coerced into participating.

“Look, I’ve done nude photos, lots," the American model explained, "The only ones I regretted were the ones that I kind of got talked into. I don’t want my children to ever look back and think, ‘Gosh, I wish I hadn’t done that.’ I want to empower them to just say, ‘I’m outta here.’”

Cindy certainly has a close relationship with her children, even as they jet off to walk down runways and work in famed fashion hubs like Milan. She says she can only go 'like, a week' without seeing Kaia.

“But we talk every day, at least, and text," the fashion icon said, "If she doesn’t text me back within 15 minutes, I do one in all caps and a lot of exclamation points. Just respond, okay? Or else I’m going to track you through your Uber account.”

Her son Presley graduated from Malibu High School last year, and still remains close to home: “My son lives in our guesthouse now, so he has more freedom, but somehow he still comes over for every meal and to do his laundry."

Cindy also touched on how she affected her kids' modelling skills, saying, “I don’t really think that you can teach how to model. It needs to come from within. But like with Kaia when she was little, about seven years old—she would play dress-up in Mom’s clothes, and I would do her hair and makeup and we would play photo shoot or runway show.

"I would be shooting the pictures, and I’d be like, ‘No, put your chin up,’ or ‘Hold your arm out like that.’ Probably a little of it stuck.”

Regardless of whether modelling is an innate or learned talent, we definitely admire Cindy's supportive yet protective attitude towards her kids' careers.
