Coeliac Awareness Week is taking place from Monday, 12th May to Monday, 19th May 2014.

Coeliac disease is a condition that causes some adults and kids to react to gluten, the protein found in wheat, barley and rye.

The number of children under the age of five who have been diagnosed with the disease has grown in recent times. So, this year, the campaign will focus heavily on diagnosis of the disease, particularly in youngsters.

To tie in with Coeliac Awareness Week, the Coeliac Society of Ireland are doing research on the disease and are asking the Irish public to complete a short 10-question survey in relation to the disease.
