The town of Dunshaughlin in Co. Meath was devastated after the tragic loss of a Junior Cert student during the weekend.

15-year-old Marius Bors was killed in a car accident during a family trip to Moldova.

The youth was due to collect his Junior Cert exam results in September.

The community gathered to honour the young boy’s life at a vigil in Dunshaughlin Community College yesterday evening.

The young boy was a beloved member of the 7th Meath Dunshaughlin Scout Group. It’s clear that his loss has been heavily felt by his fellow scouts and their leaders.

They posted a moving tribute to their late member in a Facebook post.

“It is with profound sadness that we learnt that one of our Venture Scouts, Marius Bors, aged 15, was tragically killed in a car crash in Moldova while on holidays with his family,” they wrote.

“Marius has been a valued member of our Group for a number of years and contributed hugely to everything he undertook,” the group continued.

It is evident that Marius was a well-loved member of their community. “He was a kind and gentle Scout and will be sadly missed by his fellow Scouts and Scouters.”

The club asked the public to keep his family in their thoughts during this traumatic time.

The death of Marius is utterly heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the town of Dunshaughlin during this harrowing time.
