Twitter and Instagram have been awash with message of congratulations and well wishes since it was announced that former Coronation Street star, Helen Flanagan, has become a mum for the first time.

24-year-old Helen, who delivered a healthy baby girl in a Birmingham hospital on Monday, has been on the receiving end of much love since she and partner Scott Sinclair announced the wonderful news.

Helen, who was certain she was carrying a boy throughout her nine-month journey, has named her baby daughter Matilda Jessica Sinclair and is said to be overjoyed by the new addition to her and Scott's lives.

Equally as happy for the loved-up couple are a number of former co-stars who couldn't wait to share their joy about little Matilda's arrival.

Taking to Twitter to express her delight, newlywed Michelle Keegan wrote: "Congratulations to 'helenflanagan1 and Scott on the birth of their baby girl."

The stunning actress, who recently revealed her own baby wishes, continued: "Matilda is absolutely gorgeous, so happy for you both. xxx"

New mum, Catherine Tyldesley, also sent congratulations and offered one very important piece of advice, writing: "@helenflanagan1 so thrilled for you both. Enjoy every second xxxx"

It sounds like Helen and Scott will have a number of excited guests to host in the not-too-distant future, with Coronation Street's Brook Vincent, who played Helen's on-screen sister, writing: "Congratulations to my beautiful friend/sister @hjgflanagan I'm so proud of you...can't wait to meet little Matilda."

Aw, it sounds like Scott, Helen and Matilda have cheered up everyone's week on the cobbles!
