First of all thank you for including me in this trial. I got a bit confused when I got a phonecall from Kerry Foods directing me to collect my hamper in the local garage. I thought I had won some sort of prize! Twas a lovely surprise :)

Here are my responses:

1. How often do you and your family eat ham?

We all (5 of us) eat ham in this house. Daddy, Mummy and 3 girls (aged 6,5 and 2).

2. What do you use ham for in your home?

We regularly (almost everyday) use ham in sandwiches for school work and at home. Also toasted sandwiches. We would often put them into omlettes and my daughters like them on homemade pizzas with cheese. Sometimes I might put them in a Quiche Lorraine.

3. Did you recognise that the Denny ham you received was part of the Denny Deli Style range?

Yes

4. Which variety of Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham did your family enjoy the most?

My children liked them all but preferred the honey roast. I liked all three also but preferred the crumbed ham. My husband loved all three!

5. How do you feel about Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham now only including 5 natural ingredients?

I am delighted to see this version is now available. The fact that it doesn't contain sodium nitrate is very reassuring.

6. Did you and your family enjoy the taste of new Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham?

Yes, it tasted lovely and had a lovely texture to it. Some slices contained a little fatty bits that my children don't like but I know this would be impossible to leave out. I felt it was more like ham I would buy at a Deli counter in the butchers rather than ordinary packaged ham.

7. Would it surprise you to know that Denny has retained its strong value for money pricing on the new and improved product?

Yes, I would expect it to cost more.

Are you happy that Denny has not increased it's price despite making a huge change to the product and it's quality?

Who could complain about that!

8. Bearing the product improvements in mind and the impact those natural ingredients has on your family, would you consider buying Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients.

Yes, very much so.

I was so surprised at the hamper it contained lots of lovely ham and loads of treats, thank you so much for choosing us.

We would have ham most days for lunch, my dd (4) will only eat ham in her sambos and told me it was delicious, and she kept robbing slices from the the fridge, I love proper boiled ham and was really surprised at the quality of new Denny ham, you can really taste the difference.

My favourite would the traditional ham, it makes lovely tasty toasted sambos. DD liked all three and couldn't decide on one, ds (19 mths) ate all varities.

I like the fact there is only 5 ingrediants, It can me a minefield looking at the ingrediants of other inferior brands, The price is very reasonable and I would buy a couple of family pks a week to ensure my lot are kept in their sambos, I would buying it again and have since.

Thank you for the lovely hamper i was very suprised when i collected it I wasn't expecting it to be so big!!

5. How do you feel about Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham now only including 5 natural ingredients? I love it & it's great that the ham tasted like real ham!
6. Did you and your family enjoy the taste of new Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham? I'm delighted that we got to taste the diferent types & will be sticking to Denny in future! It's great to actually enjoy something that is 100% natural & that it's not lacking in taste.
7. Would it surprise you to know that Denny has retained its strong value for money pricing on the new andimproved product? That's a pleasant suprise I assumed it would be more expensive.

received my hamper last night thank you much, My son was delighted with all the littles extra's in it..

I made the lunch last night and whilst making it my 6 year old was stuffing his face with the beautifull 100% natural ham he loved it .My hubby only eats ham sambos for his lunch and nothing else he thinks its lovely too. Thanks a million

Denny 100% natural ingredients ham was a HUGE hit in our house, kids, husband and I all loved the samples and the hamper was a lovely surprise! Kids favourite is the traditional, just bought 6 more packs and was delighted at the price too, expected it to more expensive as the quality is so high. My favourite is the honey roast but loved them all and my husband liked the crumbed best. Will be buying 100% natural from now on! My kids have ham sandwiches almost every day in their school lunches and someone in the family has ham every day. Keep up the good work Denny, 100% happy with your product! Thank you

Wow I was not expecting the hamper I received it was amazing and especially as it arrived the day before Valentines Day someone in this house felt they didnt have to buy me a gift. But down to business.

With 6 School going kids in this house lunches freak me out every morning with some very fussy eatersand two of them have always refused to eat ham the argument being that ham is too salty. I made them sandwiches with Denny Honey roasted Ham and said nothing success that afternoon both of them came home from school saying that their sandwiches were great really tasty and had a new request for their lunch the next day.

I had bought Denny Deli style ham before in the crumbed variety as it is my favourite ham in a nice toasted ham & cheese sandwich for lunch si I was delighted to see this continued in the 100% natural range and I have to say it is still my favourite ham and as its natural I don't have to worry about what I'm eating or my kids.Ham is now a healthy options no more worrying about salt content.

I also use cooked ham when making omelettes and home made pizza and the new product means that I can cook these meal options more now knowing that my family are eating natural nutritional products.

So after testing the 3 different types of ham I have continued buyinh the 3 of them for four reasons Flavour, they are 100% natural I now make one kind of sandwich in the mornings and lastly price I am personally delighted that Denny have introduced this product and not increased the price especially in the current climate.

Well done Denny.

1. The kids (3 of them) normally have ham 3 times a week for lunch and maybe once more as part of their dinner. My husband eats ham on his lunch sometimes 5 days a week. I rarely eat ham.

2. Ham is used on sandwiches for lunch, wrapped with chicken for dinner, on pizzas, on toasties and 2 of the kids like it on pasta with butter.

3. Yes I did recognise that the Denny ham you received was part of the Denny Deli Style range.

4. My children liked the crumbed ham best, which is what I normally buy. Hubby thought the traditional was closest to the ham he is used to (he is Italian) and I liked the honey roast best. I have never bought honey roast before as I presumed we wouldn't like it. We all liked all varieties.

5. I had never considered ingredients in ham before other than the percentage of actual meat but am happy about the 100% natural product.

6. All 5 of us enjoyed the taste of the 100% natural ham.

7. I am very happy that the competitive value for money price has been retained. I am very conscious of buying decent products for my children but also need to work within a budget so the price not being increased is a big plus for me.

8. I will definitely consider (opt to buy) Denny 100% natural in the future. I have in fact purchased it twice more since the trial.

I was delighted to be a part of this trial, I had stopped buying ham recently as I was very concerned with the additives etc and felt it wasn't the healthiest option for my family. There was great excitement when the hamper arrived and everyone was eager to try the ham!


I have used the ham every day, my husband is the fussiest when it comes to ham and refuses to eat it if it looks anyway fatty or tastes "rubbery", he loved the crumbed ham, which was also my favourite. He had it on Sandwiches for lunch, but I also used it in quiche and omlettes for the kids as well as the favourite toasties.


Kids like ham sambos, but also now sometimes take a slice for a snack (honey roast) which they didn't do before, so without a doubt they enjoy this ham and I rest easier knowing it's good for them.


I will buy this ham again, and am delighted that it is such good value for money. It tastes great, it even looks better than other ham I've bought and without all the nasty additives it's a no brainer for us!! Thanks you for including us in your trial, and thanks to Denny for giving us what every mammy wants a tasty healthy alternative for our kids!

Couldnt believe when I received the fantastic Denny Hamper - really helped to get the kids involved as were excited to see what it was all about. We all eat ham on a daily basis, mainly for school lunches or just as a snack. I would have for my work lunch also. Kids all preferred the Honey Roast ham and the crumbled more so than the traditional. However myself & husband really liked the traditional ham. Thought all were very tastly and was great to see that the ham only had 5 natural ingredients. Makes such a difference when it comes to choosing food in the weekly shopping. My daughter would take ham sambos for school lunch about 3 times a week I'd use ham in omelettes and toasties.

I didnt recognise this ham was part of the deli range straight away, it was the 100% natural part that caught my eye at first. I buy the deli range and it has been clearer on the old packaging.

I enjoyed the honey roast ham where as my daughter enjoyed the traditional style best.

Im delighted that the ham only has natural ingredients and we all enjoyed the taste.

Im delighted denny have retained the price especially as this product is 100% natural - which usually means more expensive!!

How often do you and your family eat ham? Which members of the family eat it normally i.e the children, partner etc? We eat ham on a daily basis here, it’s a staple. It is eaten by myself, my husband, my 2 ½ year old and it will be eaten shortly by my 7 month old!
What do you use ham for in your home? E.g. lunches, sandwiches, picnics, ingredients for cooking etc. Ham is mostly used in sandwiches or salads in our home. Always brought on picnics when we get the weather and I use it in my homemade recipe for Devils Fingers. (rolled stuffed ham slices). I also use it as a pizza topping cut into squares.
Did you recognise that the Denny ham you received was part of the Denny Deli Style range? Yes, I was aware of this as my husband is very picky when it comes to meat, he insists we get Denny each week.
Which variety of Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham did your family enjoy the most? Was it Traditional Style, Crumbed or the Honey Roast flavours? Which variety did you like? And which did the children like? My husband loves Traditional style, that’s his favourite. I had never tasted the Honey Roast flavour beforehand and I loved it, so that will be on my shopping list from now on. My little one also preferred the Traditional.
How do you feel about Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham now only including 5 natural ingredients? I think it’s fantastic and so responsible of Denny to make such a move. People are becoming a lot more aware of what they put in their bodies so knowing Denny ham is 100% natural is a weight off your mind when feeding it to your family.
Did you and your family enjoy the taste of new Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham? We really enjoyed the 100% natural range, it tastes just like ham cut off a joint and packaged fresh.

Are you happy that Denny has not increased its price despite making a huge change to the product and its quality? This is especially important for families all across Ireland now. It is very socially aware of Denny to not hike their prices given that they have made such a difference to their products. It’s far too easy for companies to increase prices when they make the change towards healthier ingredients for their consumers and it is admirable that Denny have chosen to keep the pricing so competitive.

I will continue to purchase Denny for my family, it will always be my first choice as I will be comfortable knowing I am giving my family the most natural ingredients I can at mealtimes.

My family was delighted to be part of this trial as there is always ham in our fridge. My husband, 2 children & myself aslways eat ham.
We use ham in sandwhiches for lunches & also as an ingredient for cooking approx once a week.
I did recognise the ham as part of the Denny range.
I loved the crumbed ham, children loved the honey roast ham followed by the crumbed ham & my husband loved the crumbed ham & the tradtional style.
It is great that the ham is now only including 5 natural ingredients.
We thoroughly enjoyed the taste.
It did surprise me a little, as it is a new & improved product with natural ingredients I did think the price would be higher, however I am extremely happy that Denny has not increased the price as it shows they do value their customers & look after them.
I have bought & will be buying again the Denny Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham for my family & have recommended it to other family members.

I was delighted when the big hamper came to the door so thank you so much Denny and MummyPages for letting me take part in the trial.
We used to have a lot of ham in my house. The kids always had ham sandwiches for lunch but after the show on RTE i only allowed them have 1 ham sandwich a week...which they haven't been too happy with. So when i heard about this new ham from Denny i was thrilled...and the kids were thrilled when they could eat more ham!

This Denny ham tasted delicious...it didn't have that rubbery feel that can often be found with packet ham. I felt far better giving it to my kids as it smelt more natural. It also tastes great! Like the ham you would cook at home!

My favourite was the Crumbed but the kids liked all of the flavours.


I am so delighted that there are now only 5 ingredients - it can be so tough as a parent to ensure that everything you give your kid is good and healthy so any way of making this easier is much welcomed.

I couldn't believe it when i read that Denny aren't increasing the price for this ham...i would gladly have paid extra for natural ham with only 5 ingredients but the fact that they have kept the price the same shows real customer loyality. I will defo only be buying Denny ham for now on :-)
