Evening All - once again I would like to thank you for providing us with such great hampers for this trial.



So here goes the feedback!!!

Ham would be used in the house daily between snacks lunches and teatime and everyone in the house eats it at some stage of the day or other.

We would use ham for sandwiches omlettes just roll it up and eat in hand and salads.

Yes the product packaging was easily recognisible

Normally I would buy traditional style ham but now after trying the honey roast I am converted!! It has a very subtle taste not very sweet as I always imagined!!! Hubby loved it too and as for the children they are just protein fiends and all 3 were good too them!If you ask them what there fav was they would tell you all 3 i think its just so as no-one is left out!!!!

The fact that Denny now only use 5 natural ingredients is wonderful because at least you now know what eactly is in it!

From eating the new ham I have to say the flavour has only improved to me and the wetness and plasticy feel that goes with packet ham has all gone!!! It is proper ham now and it tastes 100% real!

Looking at the cost it is great that Denny hasnt increased the cost because now they are providing a wonderful tasting product with only natural ingredients with no extra cost added.

And honestly and truthfully after tasting the new improved Denny ham when I was shopping it was the ham I chose to put into my trolley! And it will be from here on in!!!

Firstly, thank you for the opportunity to review this product. I was shocked to recieve a hamper I had just expected a packet or two of ham! Heres my review:
Ham is bought in our house every week. My boyfriend would eat it almost every day for lunch, I would eat it for lunch a couple of times a week. (Although I have been eating Denny every day this week) We also use it in dinner as pizza toppings, pasta bake or omlette. The packaging was only slighty different to the old packet so the brand was still easy to recognise but it had changed enough for it to stand out on the shelves in the supermarket. I enjoyed the traditional variety most myself, my partner preferred to crumbled, finding them lovely and moist and you really can taste the "HAM" as if it had just been carved. No processed rubbery texture in sight. We both found the honey roast flavour to be slightly drier in texture making it less enjoyable. However we wouldn't normally buy honey roast so it may just be our taste as opposed to the variety itself. I will definitley buy this product from now on because it is natural. We are a very health concious family and I check the % meat content and additives in all meat products I buy in the supermarket, so given that there is no MSG, added water or additives this will be a shopping list staple. And Its great that Denny have made the price affordable as ham products can be so expensive these days. So all in all I would definitley buy again and definitley recommend. Firstly thank you to MummyPages & Denny for a lovely hamper of goodies, we were all delighted when we opened it.
Now to the important part, the ham itself. In the past we ate ham approx four times a week until recently when we watched a program showing the amount of nitrates / chemicals etc that was injected into it & the potentional increase in risks relating to cancer. We all loved ham so found it very difficult to remove it from our lives, so much so we would cook a piece of ham but this is not always practical & the results are not the same. Ham featured a lot in both the kids & our lunches & also on tortillas, omelettes & pancakes for breakfast from time to time.
The kids favourite was the honey roasted but only they loved the other flavours too, our favourite was the crumbed but again they are all lovely. The ham has lovely texture & flavour, its not rubbery like so many hams you can buy today. We are delighted that it is all made from natural products & that we can go back to eating ham again, we were even more surprised & pleased that Denny had kept the prices the same It is nice to see a company making a real change to their product & not take advantage of the market because they are the first to do so. Its also good to know that Denny are listening to the concerns of their customers in relation to both price and qaulity, it is far to common these days to get either but not both.

We will definitely buy these hams as part of our regular shop, well done Denny on a great product.

We loved the hamper and the ham. I loved that it is 100 percent Natural. You can really taste the difference. Will buy in the future. :)
My husband takes ham to work everyday and my daughter likes to have some for her lunch. We usually use ham for sandwiches, snack time and for some cooking. I really enjoyed the Honey Roasted, but my husband loves the Crumbled and my daughter likes all of them, Two thumbs up!

Wow, what a hamper. I totally wasnt expecting that. It was a lovely shock and surprise to recieve it! My parter thought all his birthdays came at once when he saw it, he loves his ham sambos for work. Just as i love toasted ham and cheese sambos.

1. ham is definatly eaten every 2nd day (sometimes everyday), my partner would eat more in his sambos for work. he could make up to 4 sambos for a 12 hour shift.



2. Ham would mainly be used for sandwiches, but I love to include it in an omlette!! I also like to use it when making a pasta bake.

4. the honey roast was our favouite folowed by the traditional. I loved that it tasted like real ham not rubbery ham.

6. yes, the taste is really good, delighted that it tastes so close to homecooked ham and not rubbery


7. yes very surprised. the first thing i thought to myself when i tasted it was but is it a lot more expensive?

First of all, thanks for the great hamper ! Like the other people who posted, we were very impressed. We have eaten most of it at this stage

Feedback

1. We eat ham 4/7 days I'd say and we all eat it (2 adults & 2 kids).

2. We use it for lunch sandwiches mostly.

3. Yes - I think its very clear

4. Crumbed was our favourite. The children didnt notice any difference to be honest and in a sandwich I'd agree - it was only from sampling that I'd say you could taste a difference. We also served it to visitors who liked it - hadnt heard of it yet and were pleased to see theres a natural option available.

5. I think its great - there has been very bad PR about prepacked meats and its nice to know theres a convenient option. We had stopped buying it and were cooking our own.

6. Yes we all did. I found it a bit salty to be honest but this view wasnt shared by other members of the family.

7 Yes this is a good point.

8. Yes we will definitely buy this product.

Thank you MummyPages and Denny for the impressive hamper! I was expecting a packet or two to be purchased with a voucher, so I was delighted to receive a hamper with loads of ham and a few extra goodies. I gave a friend who has small children 2 packets, and it's gone down a treat in her house, and is on the shopping list from now on.

So here's my review:
1. We eat ham pretty much daily, not everyone though, my husband and daughter would eat the most. Followed by my son who's one and I'd eat the least.

2. Most regularly the ham is used for sandwiches or rolls for lunches for my husband for work and daughter for school. At weekends they both would have the same again for lunch a lot of the time. I would have ham sandwiches too, but not daily. The baby would have them once or twice a week, but prefers to pick out the ham, eat that and leave the bread behind, or mash it into something I would also use ham on pizzas, in creamy pasta sauces for the kids, in wraps and omelettes.

3. Yes, I did recognise the Denny Deli style range packaging. The advertising campaign is very promenent too, so I don't think you could miss it!

4. My preference would be for honey roast flavour, and always has been. However, the honey roast ham in this Denny's range is the best I've tasted. My daughter who usually would prefer "Traditional" went wild for the honey roast and wanted to eat slice after slice just by themselves. The traditional and crumbed varieties were excellent too, I've never been a big fan of the crumbed style ham for no reason other than I have a strange aversion to crumb on ham! But the crumbed ham in my ham salad sandwich at lunchtime today tasted very good, my father liked the taste too. To be more specific about the hams, I found the texture to be very good. Some sliced hams can be a bit rubbery, but this range is not a bit like that. The texture is very pleasant and soft, much more like a good ham you've boiled yourself, however I'd never manage to slice it that well! The slices are quite thin, not as thin as "wafer thin" but a little thinner than the brand I used to buy. I quite liked this, but I would use two slices in a sandwich for my husband. I also like the size of the slices. they are exactly sliced pan sized! Very handy for making a neat sandwich, no more cutting the ham to make it fit better! (That may be a bit OCD of me though!)

5. I am very pleased to see the ingredients list for the ham. I did feel quite uneasy about giving my daughter so much ham, given the recent publicity, but was reluctant to cut it out altogether as she eats little else. My friend had actually stopped buying sliced ham entirely, but since having the samples I passed her is planning on buying it again, the Denny Deli Style 100% natural of course!

6. We very much enjoyed the taste. My daughter is very complimentary about it and is eating more of it than usual (i.e. asking for single slices to eat there and then!). I like the texture and non-rubberiness of it, it smelt pleasant too.

7. I was pleasantly suprised to see the price of the new ham in my local supermarket. I'll get 2 packets of 10 for the same price that I was paying for 1 packet of 5 of the "own brand"!

8. I won't consider buying the new Denny ham, I will be buying the new Denny ham. I'll be happier giving my family a food I feel is healthier than what I was giving them before, but it will actually be very good value too, which really helps when all of us are looking at the cost of our grocery shopping much more closely these days. Also, just to mention the packaging, I found the resealable pack very easy to reseal, and it stayed sealed too. Those type of packs usually get the better of me!

Firstly I'd just like to say thank you for the fabulous hamper. It was a lovely surprise.
Our family consists of mummy, daddy and three boys aged 5 1/2, 2 1/2 and four months. We all eat ham (except baby) with the two older boys eating ham almost every day. Both boys are pretty picky eaters but love ham sandwiches. I use ham for school and work lunches in sandwiches and paninis, for picnics, as an ingredient for cooking in omelettes, pasta dishes, sauces etc. I was however becoming wary if using ham so often due to recent reports about ingredients and actually only two weeks ago had bought and cooked off a piece of ham to use for sandwiches etc but found it hard to slice thin enough etc. resulting in complaints from my 5 year old! I was very interested when I heard about Denny's new ham and was delighted to be chosen to try it.
The packaging is very clear and it was easy to recognise that it was not only the 100% natural ingredients ham but that it was the Denny Deli style range. We liked all of the favours. To very honest the least favourite was the crumbed but only cause the boys don't like the crumb part anyway. I like the honey roast for a bit of extra flavour and my husband liked the traditional best. The ham had a lovely texture to it and wasn't rubbery at all. We all enjoyed the ham and so did granny, grandad, aunts and uncles. I think it is great that the ham only has 5 natural recognisable ingredients and feel that it is much healthier than other packaged ham as a result. I have to say i was very surprised to read that the price has not been increased and i applaud Denny for that. It is very rare that an improved quality product to be sold at the same price as before. The ham got a big thumbs up from all for texture, taste and flavour. Denny Deli style 100% Natural Ingredients Ham will definitely be on all our shopping lists in the future. Thanks again ;0)

Hi. We got our fab hamper last week and we have been eating ham with everything! The kids are having ham sandwiches for their school lunch and then coming home and having cheese and ham toasties in the afternoon. I have made a ham quiche (which I hadn't made for ages) and that went down a treat. It is so handy to always have a packet of ham in the fridge - I am never stuck for something to make for lunch. Myself and my husband preferred the crumbed ham but the kids definitely preferred the honey roast flavour.
I would only have bought ham on the odd occasion because I am concerned about the salt levels and also the list of ingrediants I sometimes see on the back of a pack. This 'natural' range will certainly change this. I am much happier buying a product with a limited range of identifiable natural ingrediants. It is also a pleasant surprise that the price was not increased despite the product improvement (as is often the case!).
Denny natural ham will definitley be on the shopping list from now on!

My family would eat ham almost every day of the week. The children would have it every weekday in their lunch as they are quite finicky about what they would eat in a sandwich. My husband and myself would either have it in sandwiches, salads or on its own when we're looking for something to pick at from the fridge!!The ham is instantly recognisable as being part of the deli range and comes in 3 varieties (Crumbed Traditional and Honey Roast). All 3 types are delicious. Usually I find Honey Roast Ham very sweet, but this Honey Roast is just perfect, not too sweet but you'd kow what flavour it was if you didn't look at the pack. My husband and children really like all 3 flavours, but I personally loved the crumbed ham. It had an almost smokey flavour to it. All 3 flavours taste like ham sliced straight off a joint of ham. They don't have a rubbery taste or texture at all. It's fantastic that they only include natural ingredients that the average person can read off the back of the packet and know what they are. It's also great to hear that Denny have kept the same pricing, as often you will find prices going up when the words "new and improved" are bandied about when a product changes! I would definitely choose this ham again for the family based purely on the taste. Saying that, most of the packets we've tried have had quite a lot of fat riddled through the ham, but I'd just look for the leanest ham on the shelf when I'm buying it myself!

well what can I say denny you have really out done yourselves the ham is lovely not rubbery like cooked ham you do in the oven, my little girl eats slice upon slice every day and I had cut down on it as was afraid there was too many additives. my partner takes it on his lunch every day and has even let the fellas in work sample. They all have said better taste and less rubbery then normal ham . Thanks so much for allowing me to participate in the trial and thank you for the lovely hamper

Having tried all the hams i am delighted to say that Denny is still my number one meat. I am very happy to say that the quality was excellent the thickness and wetness was just right. My favourite was the honey roast ham. The ham was mainly used for sandwiches but i also used your traditional ham in a pasta dish. again a excellent ingredient for any pasta dish. Thank you so much for letting me by part of this trial its a clear 100% thumbs up from this house

Thanks for letting me test the product. The first thing I noticed when I opened the pack was the smell. It was like fresh ham that you would have cooked yourself, I have never got that from packed ham before.

Q1. Would eat ham 4 to 5 times a week. Mostly my husband and daughter that would eat it

Q2. Would use it for lunch, snacks and the odd time in cooking

Q3. Did notice it was the deli range

Q4. All of it went down a treat. I'm normally quite fussy and like crumbled ham but I loved the honey roast ham, my daughter even enjoyed this but she preffered the traditional style.

Q5. Much happier buying ham with it only having 5 natural ingreedients

Q6. I had everyone that called try it my friend, Mam, sister. Everyone had it in sambo's and went back for more.They all commented on the smell and that it was like fresh ham that you cooked yourself and also the fresh taste.

Q7. I am surprised because normally when companies make changes to improve a product the price creeps a little. Am happy to see that it has retained value for money pricing. I even noticed it the other day in my local supermarket.

Received my fab hamper could not believe how generous it was, so my sister and Mam got some too :)
We used to eat ham a lot in our family but after all the reports of harmful additives in packed ham we stopped using it. I found it had become very rubbery and watery. We all ate ham in our house.
I used the new Denny Ham in sandwiches, bagels, paninis, (for lunches) used in cooking for Omlettes too, even use it in a salad there yest as was such a fine day. Was very surprised at how nice the new product tasted. No rubbery texture, no water in end of pack etc. It was like the roast ham you would make yourself. Delicious. Our family enjoyed the traditional ham the most, my children dislike the crumbed version. My husband enjoyed the honey roast ham.
I cannot believe that Denny have not increased their price on this product, it really is excellent quality. I am delighted they have not increased the price and it will be in my shopping basket from now on.
The packaging is distinctive so will not be picking up another product my mistake.
Will now resume buying packets of ham so long as its Denny's Deli Style 100% Natural Ingredients :)
