Choosing whether or not to find out your baby's gender before their arrival is a decision that every parent has to make for themselves.

While, yes, being able to tell your kids if they're getting a little brother or sister can be helpful, many mums and dads still enjoy the element of surprise.

Two such parents? Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Reymayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe.

"We don’t know [what we’re having], we’re not going to find out," the London native admitted on Live with Kelly and Ryan

"Last time we didn’t know either, and we did that thing where there was basically only one name for each sex that we agreed on."

The parents aren't necessarily decided on names yet this time, the Oscar winner said: "So if it’s a boy, we have a name, if it’s a girl, we’re still negotiating."

When Hannah was pregnant with their first child, 20-month-old Iris Mary, Eddie originally wanted to find out their baby's gender.

"I remember early on in Hannah’s pregnancy, people were like, ‘Are you going to find out?’ And Hannah went, ‘No’ and I went, ‘Yes’ at exactly the same time. And then I went, ‘Obviously no, whatever, that’s good.’" the Theory of Everything actor shared.

Of course, though, with other people involved in caring for Hannah's pregnancy, slip-ups are bound to happen!

“You have to tell them not to say, but the nurse last time slightly sort of accidentally gave it away to Hannah but she didn’t tell me that, so she had a sense that Iris was going to be a girl," Eddie said.

Hopefully no one lets the cat out of the bag this time!

The parents first announced Hannah's pregnancy in November this year. Eddie says that he and his wife of three years are 'getting prepped to go back into the trenches' with their newborn.

"We’ve just about got to that stage when we’re beginning to get sleep and remember what that word means," the Les Mis actor joked.

The couple thinks that Iris is probably excited to become a big sister - or she may simply be confused about the whole affair.

"I thought she was a genius child because she came up to Hannah and started kissing her tummy and saying, ‘Baby, baby in there,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, amazing, what a gifted child,’" Eddie told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest.

“And [then] she came up to me, kissed my tummy, kissed her own tummy and said, ‘Baby in there.’" he said.

"She also calls her toy monkey ‘baby,’ so I think, basically, she’s deeply confused." Yeah, it definitely sounds like she's a little mixed up!

Do you prefer to find out your child's gender before they're born, or do you like to keep the mystery alive?
