From roundabouts to airplanes and car parks, we have heard of some unusual birth spots in our time, but the following story is without doubt one of the most dramatic we have ever come across.

A US couple who were celebrating Valentine’s Day early this week were in for quite a surprise, when they left their dinner-date as a family of three!

Heather and Eric Bailey, from Utah, were due to welcome their first child on February 14, and so decided to mark their Valentine’s date night with a meal at Tuscany restaurant on Tuesday.

It wasn’t long, however, before Heather began having ‘intermittent contractions through the first two to three courses’ of her meal.

Heather left the table to go to the bathroom, and husband Eric grew more than a little concerned when she didn’t return. The couple’s server, Sydney Malmrose, then volunteered to check on Heather – and she was in for quite a shock.

Speaking to local media, Malmrose recalled hearing definite ‘laboured noises’ from the cubicle and, having delivered her own sister when she was younger, she knew she needed to take immediate action.

After grabbing Eric and ordering the hostess to get some towels, Sydney returned to find that the Bailey Baby was well on his way!

An astonished Eric added: “We rush into the bathroom, and I arrive just in time to basically catch [the baby].”

Within 10 minutes, baby Christopher had arrived into the world, and the Bailey left as a family-of-three!
