Thanks for picking us. Im aware of the Carr's brand. We had tried Carr's Oddities previously but not in a while & they have certainly improved the flavour. The fact they are baked is a bonus and they taste crispy.
Both flavours were a hit with myself and the two younger ones loving the bacon ones & my daughter & husband liking the salt & vinegar. The only issue my 14yr old had was that she felt the salt & vinegar was a bit over powering. She was extremely thirsty after eating them.
If there was to be another flavour id love Sour Cream & Onion. My husband however wants more extreme & different by wanting Worchester flavour.
The youngest would take note of the shapes however the others just want to eat them!! Lol
The packaging is perfect especially for lunch boxes.
Yes we would definitely buy them again as they are good value at €2.75 per 5 pack and are on offer in Tesco at €2 this week. Plus an added bonus is having something different to add to the lunches.
Id certainly recommend them and we even use them as nibbles for entertaining or as an alternative to crisps at a party.

Thanks again for the chance to try these delicious snacks that are a family hit with us

Thank you for allowing me to be part of this trial.
I was aware of the Carr's brand before, particlarly your product of water crackers, I buy them a lot. I have not tried the oddities before now. Both my daughter and myself liked both flavours with salt and vinegar the favourite.
My daughter wouuld love to see a sour cream and onion flavour. The packaging is nice and bright and fun, my daughter particlarly liked the shapes of the crackers and it was one of her first comments.
I will be buying these again as they are handy as an option for luncboxes, I have recommended this product to friends who were also on the lookot for something different and tasty for lunchboxes.

I am very aware of the Carr’s brand and am very fond of their products – they are just so tasty. I hadn’t tried Oddities prior to this trial, but had seen them recently in a store. I try my best to be as health conscious as possible, and also with my family....and so when I have a snack – I do try to make sure that they are a little healthier. I absolutely love the fact that Oddities are baked and not fried – it really does make a huge difference. I personally loved the Smoky Bacon flavour – they were just so tasty and were the perfect snack on the go for me, a lovely accompaniant at lunch and a guilt-free treat in the evening with a glass of vino :-) The kids loved the Salt and Vinegar flavour. I had popped some packs in the glove compartment in the car, and they really work as the perfect on-the-go snack for the kiddies. They loved the different shapes – and often started games between the farm and sea animals. I personally love sour cream and onion flavours and think it would work perfectly with the texture of Oddities. The kids never usually comment on packaging but they were very impressed with the animals on the packs, and while doing our shopping over the weekend, my youngest was spotted them on the shelf and wanted them added to the trolley! :-)
I would def buy Carr’s Oddities again, they were a great hit with both mum and kids....and have already recommended to my sister and friend.
Thank you for picking me :)

Thank you for letting us try out Carr’s Oddities! Well, what can I say! These were a great hit in our house with both young and old.
I would always choose Carr’s as my crackers of choice, but hadn’t seen Oddities previously and couldn’t wait to try them out. The house was slightly divided on taste, Mum loved the Salt &Vinegar as did my eldest son. However, my hubby and youngest boy seemed to prefer the smoky bacon flavour. Saying all that, we did all enjoy all flavours.

I was very impressed that they are baked and not fried, and the little lads didn’t even notice the difference. It is just a little bit of piece of mind when giving them to the boys as a snack on the go or for their lunches. I think that perhaps a BBQ flavour could be really tasty; when I asked the boys – they suggested sweet chilli. The boys really got a thrill when they seen the different shapes, it really did animate them each time they opened a pack.

The packs are the perfect size for a healthy snack and we really liked the packaging. I have already popped a pack of Salt & Vinegar in the shopping trolley on my last visit and will most definetly be recommeding to others....and anyone that will listen
Thanks again Smiling

What a great name! I think this new snack product, “Carr’s Oddities”, has a really clever, fun name and inspires interest and curiosity. As soon as I heard it, I was keen to try them out and so I was delighted to have been chosen to take part in this trial. I can assure you many eyes lit up in our house when the postman arrived with a parcel containing 2 large bags of these new Carr’s Oddities. The unexpected combination of fun shapes had us immediately interested and we were dying to get stuck in to see if they tasted as good as they looked - they didn’t last long! I am well aware of the Carr’s brand and remember having Carr’s tablewater biscuits regularly as a child in the 1980s. Nowadays, we regularly buy Carr’s flatbread crackers which are delicious at lunchtime with a bowl of soup or topped with tuna and sweetcorn. At Christmas we would always have a number of large boxes of Carrs biscuit selection for cheese, perfect for a dinner party or with cold meats. I had not heard of Carr’s Oddities before which is a surprise to me as I’m normally well on top of new products, particularly lunchtime snacks.

The fact that these snacks contain no artificial colours/flavours, are low in calories (only 112 per 25g bag) and are baked rather than fried definitely appeals to me. It meant that they weren’t greasy or messy, just nice, crispy, crunchy and light. I think it’s great to see a healthier yet fun snack product and that would definitely influence my decision as to whether to choose this brand over another. The packaging is appealing – bright, colourful and eye-catching. I liked the fact that they can be bought in a large bag of 5 individual snack bags (just the right size) but I think it would be nice to be able to buy individual bags too, perhaps also a larger sharing bag which would be great for parties, picnics or playdates. Also, I’d be keen to know where they can be bought? Is it only the main stores – Supervalu, Tesco, Dunnes or can you buy them in petrol stations, convenience stores and perhaps even health food shops? Are they expensive? What do they cost in comparison to the top crisp sellers and other snack bag products on the market? I may be prepared to pay a small extra premium for the fact that they are healthier than traditional fried crisps but there are so many competitors out there that in order to make an impact, I think they would have to be similarly priced to be honest.
The large coloured bag is instantly recognisable on the supermarket shelf, attractive to the kids and everybody at our house loved the themes. The pink bag was Smoky Bacon with a cute animal theme featuring owls, hens etc while the blue bag was Salt and Vinegar with an ocean theme featuring boats, crabs etc. This pairing of a theme with a flavour is a very clever marketing tool which introduces an element of playfulness and fun, we loved comparing who got which shape next! Although aimed mainly at kids (ideal for back to school, lunchtimes, snacks, playdates, picnics, cinema, trips to the zoo etc), I think they will have an appeal to all ages and i have to confess I rather liked them myself, especially with cheese and chutney. I have a real passion for tasty savoury snacks. The Smoky Bacon was the more popular flavour in our house as we found the other flavour quite salty and strong but fear not, there wasn’t a crumb left!

With regard to other possible flavours, what about a festive flavour of Turkey and Stuffing with Christmas shapes and characters? Or perhaps a Pulled Pork, Cheese and Onion or Spicy? Other themes could be the seasons, the jungle, toys, nature? The more flavour/theme combinations the better. Everybody likes choice I think.

Yes, I will purchase Carr’s Oddities again. The main reason is that they went down such a treat at home – an original novelty snack idea which is handy to pop in a lunchbox without feeling guilty that you are loading them up with sugar and fat. Our family goes through snack fads and what’s popular one week is out the next but at the moment, these new snack products are a real favourite, they keep us satisfied, they’re low in fat, healthy, tasty and a novelty. I most definitely will recommend them to friends and family and I’m quite sure they will all be impressed too. I think this fresh new product will have an appeal to everyone, little kids and also the not so little kids! Well done to Carr’s on this new addition to their already impressive product range.

My children told me that they had already tried the salt and vinegar Oddities in my sister's house before participating in this mum trial so they were very excited to see them appear in our home! I have to say I tried them myself as well as giving them to the children and hope Carrs bring out an adult-themed version I can serve for nibbles at my weekly book club meeting. The packaging was bright and appealing for the children, which together with the fun shapes make them an enjoyable and fun snack. I wonder of Carrs would consider introducing a cheese and onion flavour as this would help me to avoid fried crisps altogether and I would buy the healthier baked crackers instead every time!

I'm sure like every other 2 year old my little fella likes what he likes to eat and doesn't take kindly to trying new things. However when he saw the bag to oddities he was curious (& full of questions!) so I gave him some of the smoky bacon ones and 3 mins later the packet was empty! He loved the flavour and wanted more:)
During the week I also gave him the salt and vinegar flavour to try but he definitely preferred the smokey bacon. Needless to say it didn't take long for the whole packet to disappear, I will be putting them on my shopping list from now on :) They are definitely a handy yet reasonably healthy snack to have in reserve for hungry tummies.

My children were delighted to be given the chance to review Carr's Oddities crackers, although they described them to me as a crisp because they tasted just like one! Lucy, my youngest at age 5 years, loved the 'pink' smokey bacon flavour while James aged 7 years preferred the salt and vinegar flavour. Safe to say mum liked both flavours...particularly when accompanied by a glass of wine ;-)

As a mum, the thing that appealed to me most about the Oddities range of crackers was the fact that they were baked and not fried like crisps, therefore making them a better healthier snack choice. Another positive was the fact that there were no artificial colours or flavours used in their making which is important to me as I try to give my children natural foods in so far as I can. My only small complaint would be the pack size, my children were happy to share a pack than to have one each but maybe that's just because they have little tummies!
I used a packet of the Oddities in my children's school lunchbox as a treat on Friday and they loved sharing them with their friends. The imaginative shapes used for the snacks continue to be a talking point amongst my two every time they eat them!

Both my girls didn't like the smokey bacon ones and both liked the salt and vinegar flavour. I thought they were a good pack size - there's a good amount of crackers in the pack so a decent snack.

I could see myself buying them for picnics / packed lunches for on the go.

I am aware of the cars brand. I haven't tried Carr's oddities before this trial.
I absolutely love that they are baked and not fried as healthy food is the most important for our children. My children loved the smokey bacon but found the salt & vinegar one's too spicy!!
I think a sour cream & onion would sell well. The shapes of the biscuit were not noticed by my children just the flavour.
Packaging is nice and colourful which is always a plus when selling.
