Mums across Ireland can finally reclaim their ipads, e-books and MP3 players off their children. VTech has released the InnoTab, a new toy for kids that combines e-books, educational games, music, a photo viewer and an art studio all in one touch-screen, handheld tablet. This device is aimed at kids between the ages of 4 and 9.

The games, apps and e-reader are a great way of implementing learning into your child’s games. This tablet allows children to develop core skills such as reading, spelling, math, logic and creativity. Applications include an art studio, e-reader, photo viewer and video player. It comes complete with a state-of-the art gravity sensor control for superior motion based gaming and also has built-in auto picture rotation.

As the InnoTab functions as an educational tool, parents can monitor their child’s progress with a built-in tracker which can be downloaded using the VTech Learning Lodge Navigator – so if your child’s reading is progressing more than their maths, you can download extra games and learning apps that will suit your child. To download more games and apps visit www.vtechuk.com/download

Innotab is available in Argos, Amazon, Debenhams, Hamleys, Littlewoods, Smyths, and all other good toy retailers. The InnoTab console retails around €100 and software retails around €30.

We have five Innotabs that we would like mums (or rather their kiddies) to test out for us. To be part of this test, you must join this group and leave a comment below noting your interest to take part. Your child should be between the age of 4 and 9 to take part in this trial.

This product trial is now closed. Testers of the InnoTab are Julie-Anne McCarthy, Emma Heuston, Jennie O’Shea, Claire Murray and Liz Dunne-Byrne.

I have 5 and 7 year old girls who would love to test this product. I have journalism experience so I would have no difficulty providing you with a well written, detailed report. I think it is great that you are looking for feedback from real consumers. No wonder Vtech has such a great reputation for making exciting educational toys for kids! (And yes, a bit of blatant flattery there but it is true!)

I have 3 boys and this would suit 2 of them (4 and 6) although I think the 6 year old would get a better grasp of it - he's very quick with the games and apps on his dads phone (I won't let him near mine lol). I think he would be perfect as a tester for this toy :)

Hi

i am a mum of 4 girls, and this would suit 2 if not 3 of them. I have an almost 4 year old who is into everything her older sisters have, ds's, digital camera, computer, - this woould be great for her as it would be her own to test out, she would love it. she could also share with her 6 year old (turned 6 yesterday :) ) sister who would just love trying it out as would im sure my 9 year old, she would love to show off to her sisters im sure and teach them how to work the innotab, we are stuck for ideas for our 9 year old dd for xmas, shes at an age where shes too old for some things and too young for others but i did have my eye on a tablet thinking it would be good for her, if she tried this then we would be sure. (and santa would have either got it right or wrong on christmas morning!!!)
