We are all really enjoying this trail. We recieved our seeds nearly 3 weeks ago and planted tday, the hem the next day, the younger 3 girls were particularly excited, my 12 year old was pretending she was too cool!
The 4 & 5 year olds check the plants daily, it did take nearly 2 weeks for some shoots to appear, they were starting to lose interested but as soon as the first shoot appeared they are back hooked. They are now, over 2 cms in height and nearly ready to be transplanted out of the little trays ( i think) and I they are already talking about that stage. Have to keep a close eye that thet don't over water them.



I feel this is a really worth while thing to do with kids and I'm hoping it might even get the 4 year old to eat one, fingers crossed anyway!!!

We were delighted to be chosen for this project! There was great excitement when the kit arrived. The little ones were very impressed with all the equipment. We had to wait a few days until mummy organised to buy some compost to get planting. We are now anxiously waiting for the plants to emerge. If watching speeded up the growing process them we would have plants that were several foot high by now! The children are having a hard time associating their favourite Heinz ketchup with the tiny seeds. It will be a very valuable lesson for them in how food is produced.

Out little tomatos are about 5 cm high rigth now. My daughter is checking them growins every day haha

Our tomatos are already about 3-4 cm so seems like everything is going well.

just writing another update on grow your own we recieved our back a little while back and we planted them straight away, my little girl absolutely loves watering her tomatoes, she looks forward to it each day, at present we have a lot of green roots and I would say a tomatoe or two is very close, it reaally is a great thing to do with children and my little girl now understands that tomatoes make ketchup as she can associate the heinz sign to her tomato plant. it is a great way of getting my little one to eat more veg which is an added bonus, thanks so much. I really would encourage others to grow their own

We just water our tomatos and we just can t belive how fast it grow.
