When a baby’s birth comes with a complication, a parent can be inconsolable until they get that one positive sign – it could be good news from a doctor, or it could be a simple but beautiful smile.
This was the case for new mum Lauren Vinje, who recently welcomed her first child into the world.
Lauren’s daughter was born premature, tipping the scales at just 3lbs 14oz. And while Lauren and her other half may have been worried for her, this little tot was keen to let her parents know she was going to be totally fine.
Sending over a photo of her precious daughter smiling broadly, Lauren shared some inspiring words with the Love What Matters Facebook page.
“Our first daughter at five days old. 3lbs 14oz, she was happy to be alive!” wrote Lauren.
The doting new mum added: “This picture was one I looked at often to get me through the ups and downs of our NICU days. Life is so precious.”
How right she is.
Needless to say, Lauren’s daughter’s beaming smile has won hearts all over the world and prompted other families to share their own inspiring stories and photos.
