Given how his background in the movie industry is mainly in the comedy genre, and how hilarious he is in any given interview, we’re surprised by Ryan Reynolds’ fans’ reactions to his latest social media post.
The star faced major backlash this week after retweeting a vintage black-and-white photo of a young child in a cage, hanging out from an apartment.
In the caption, he jokingly wrote: “This is absolutely monstrous and does anybody know if it requires a permit?”
The star, who is dad to six-month-old James may have thought it was clear that he was joking, but that wasn’t so obvious to a number of his fans.

Thinking that the Deadpool actor was being serious about investing in such a cage himself, a number of followers took to Twitter to criticise him.
“I don’t think your baby is going to enjoy being in there,” wrote one follower. Meanwhile, another commented: “Blake is going to murder you Ryan, don’t even think about it.”
@VancityReynolds Careful there, trolls are already mad at u 4 not magically knowing everything abt babies.

Of course, this minor backlash was nothing in comparison to the response he received after posing for a photo in which he was holding he daughter incorrectly.
Ryan addressed the controversy this week, admitting that as a new dad he is learning as he goes along.
What are your thoughts?
