They always tended to shy away from the spotlight, so many fans and followers of this Hollywood couple have been left shocked by the latest sad news to hit the headlines.
According to reports this weekend, actress Kate Beckinsale and her director husband Len Wiseman ‘secretly separated’ several months ago.
Speculation on the status of Kate and Len’s marriage was rife this week, when the Sleepy Hollow director was spotted out and about with model CJ Franco, minus his wedding ring.
Confirming the sad news to People magazine, an insider revealed that work commitments and busy schedules drove the pair apart.
“They have both had complicated schedule and have grown apart,” the insider said.
Kate and Len, who met on the set of Underworld, tied the knot back in 2004. Len is stepfather to 16-year-old Lily; Kate’s daughter from her previous relationship, with fellow actor Michael Sheen.
The couple worked together on a number of film productions including the Underworld franchise and Total Recall.
Of working side-by-side on so many projects, Kate previously said: “It’s different each time. We love it. I think one of the things we like least about our jobs is that it can force separation from each other.”
