Hollywood star doesn't feel she's earned a Mother's Day celebration

Having welcomed her first child just seven months ago, we imagined Hollywood star Eva Mendes would be incredibly excited at the prospect of celebrating her very first Mother's Day, but it seems like the Hitch star hopes to focus her attention elsewhere on the special day.

Explaining why she has no special plans lined up with partner, Ryan Gosling and daughter Esmeralda, Eva said: "There is no plan. I kind of feel like I haven't quite earned my stripes yet in a way."

Eva, who gave birth to baby Esmeralda in September last year, believes her mum deserves more recognition than she does right now, saying: "This Mother's Day is definitely all about my mom. She's had a really hard year."
 

Mother's Day, which falls later in the States, will be spent in the Eva's mum house, with the 41-year-old actress revealing: "We're all going to go over to her house and bombard her with love."

Explaining that her brother has been unwell and her mother needs support, Eva is determined to pay tribute to her mum on the special day, saying: "It's all about my mom, honouring her."

Despite Eva's protests, we're sure doting partner, Ryan, will be more than happy to spoil the mum of his little girl when the big day comes!
