We have some lovely news now, as it has been reported today that Australian actress Cate Blanchett and her husband, Andrew Upton, have adopted a child.

The couple, who are already parents to three sons, are said to have adopted a daughter.

The story broke in The Australian Women’s Weekly, which stated that the couple are now parents to a little girl named Vivienne.

While the couple have reportedly only told their close friends of the new addition to their family, a source told the publication that Cate is “really excited and clearly besotted”.

The Lord of the Rings star is already mother to sons 13-year-old Dashiell, 10-year-old Roman, and seven-year-old Ignatius.

She and her director husband Andrew have been married since 1997.

Cate recently opened up on what her sons think of her career, as one of the world’s top actresses, admitting that they are going through a bit of a ‘too cool’ phase at the moment!

“My children are completely in the stage where I’m an utter embarrassment,” she joked during a promotional interview for her latest movie, the live action remake of Cinderella.

Congratulations to the family on their wonderful news.
