The last thing that any mum needs is a tedious process taking up her precious time.

If you have had an unfortunate accident caused by another party that has resulted in injury and you intend to make a claim, you can submit this directly to the Injuries Board.

The claims process with the Injuries Board is a very straightforward one, taking most of the hassle out of an already stressful experience, all for a refundable €45 fee.

You can submit your claim through the website www.injuriesboard.ie by filling in the online application form, by requesting a call back through their new smartphone app or you can submit the form by post with a copy of your medical report and the processing fee. The person you are claiming against will then receive a notification of your claim from the Injuries Board.

An independent medical examination may then be arranged on your behalf to assess the amount of compensation that you may be entitled to. If both sides are in agreement on the amount of compensation, the Injuries Board will instruct the respondent to issue you with a settlement cheque. The process should take less than 9 months.

The Injuries Board can be contacted on Lo-Call helpline 1890 829 121 between 8am and 8pm  Monday to Friday, by logging on to www.injuriesboard.ie, by post at InjuriesBoard.ie, P.O. Box 8, Clonakilty, Co Cork, or on the Board’s new smartphone app.
