I can do this: The importance of believing in your own ideas

Deciding what you want to create in your life, from the small things to the big things, then expecting them to happen, actually sows seeds in the womb of your mind. These seedling thoughts have the capacity to gain momentum and grow and, if you do not resist them, they will be borne out in reality.

At the early stages of conceiving an idea, it is only a tiny flicker of a thought, the momentum around it isn’t very strong, it seems as if the idea is ‘just there’. Unfortunately, it is normal at this stage for your doubts and fears to sabotage your trust in what you want to create in your life. You disregard your desires as mere ‘wishes’ and doing nothing about them.

But what you really need to do is nurture this embryonic idea at the very early stages. Your desire is vulnerable and has not formed enough to give you any clarity. Look at it this way, your desire forms in much the same way as a baby does. However, if you were pregnant and creating a baby, you wouldn’t worry about how the heart or lungs are formed. You can’t see how the supreme creation of a baby will be achieved but you take it for granted that it will. The funny thing is, it is much easier to create a million euro than it is to create a heart or spinal cord.

Yet women all around the world manage to do this every day of the week and nobody bats an eyelid. People don’t know how their bodies work to form the intricate organs, glands, muscles and bones of a baby. But they innately trust the process.

When you have conceived an idea and it is something that your intuition is keen on, allow the idea time to form in the womb of your mind. It is creating momentum but it is still weak. Don’t speak about your idea to others, just in case they put you off with their fears. Feel around your idea, and don’t pay any heed yet to your outer circumstances. For example, if you don’t have enough money and you can’t see how it will happen edge your way forward instead of totally blocking your desire.

I often say to myself when I have a really good idea, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to do this yet, but I will.’ I am giving myself permission to believe I can and I say it with conviction. One of my favourite mantras is ‘I can do this’. As my idea progresses, I change this mantra to ‘I am doing this’. Don’t just say the mantra in unawareness. Say it with conviction – ‘I can do this’ – create a feeling around it. YOU REALLY CAN DO IT!

You will need tools to help you to deliberately create your own reality as the pull of self-doubt, lack of confidence and fear is so great. You really do have the ability to conceive, form and bear out into reality whatever you want in life. Your very own subconscious mind is a dynamic force and it loves visualisation, but you may not know how to use this tool properly yet that’s all.

To help you I have created some visualisations that can be accessed freely on my website why not have a look.
