Just last week, much loved Irish actress Amy Huberman admitted she was forced to take down a selfie due to the steady stream of negative comments she received regarding her body image.

Now, model and fashion blogger Pippa O’Connor has opened up on her own encounters with cruel online trolls and body shamers.

The star, who is mum to two-year-old son Ollie, revealed that not everyone was so supportive of her ‘Most Stylish Woman’ win at last weekend’s VIP Style Awards.

“The other night after the VIP Style Awards, there were pictures of me online. Ninety-nine percent of the comments were great and so on, but a few comments were, ‘Oh my God, way too thin’ or ‘eat a burger,’” she revealed.

Needless to say, the ‘ignorant’ comments upset and angered Pippa, who hit back at the nasty online trolls today.

“You wouldn’t say to someone, ‘You’re a few stone overweight, so lay off the burgers’. To me, it’s as insulting. You’ve no idea what someone does or doesn’t do. That could just be the way someone is and that’s the way I am,” she added.

Sharing her thoughts on last week’s debacle over Amy Huberman’s selfie, Pippa told The Sun: “I just thought when I saw the picture of Amy, we all need to just think before we speak. I just think it’s rude. It’s bad to other women.”

We completely agree with Pippa – we should all be encouraging and supporting each other, rather than dragging another person down.
