Save the date, mums - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are to marry on Saturday, May 19, 2018!

The news was announced via the Kensington Palace Twitter.

"His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018."

"Today's announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle."

The pair opened up about the proposal during their first television interview three weeks ago.

Harry shared that he proposed when they were at home in their cottage.

Meghan admitted that she said yes to his proposal so quickly that he didn’t even get a chance to put the ring on her finger.

"She didn't even let me finish, she said can I say yes, can I say yes, and I had the ring in my finger and I was like can I – can I give you the ring?" Harry shared.

It's not clear if the bride-to-be is just as quick at picking her wedding dress.

Some have speculated that fashion designer Misha Nonoo, Meghan's close friend who introduced the couple, will make the frock.

Misha's designs are striking and stunningly minimalist.

As for the ceremony's ring bearer, little George had practice as a page boy at his aunt Pippa Middleton's wedding.

Two-year-old Charlotte may be a bit young for a flower girl but hey, she would be absolutely darling!

We are a bit concerned about the fact that it is the same day as the 2018 FA Cup Final, so we may have to do some remote wrangling.

We now are patiently awaiting our invites via Royal Mail.
