The new season of Strictly Come Dancing will be back on our television screens this September and two very popular professional dancers are set to return to the BBC show.

Kevin and Karen Clifton will be back for the next season of the hit dance show, despite their break-up.

Karen joined the show in 2010, and Kevin followed in her footsteps by joining the team in 2011. The professional dancers have been fan favourites since they joined Strictly Come Dancing, with Kevin reaching the final four years in a row.

Earlier this year, the dancers confirmed that they were no longer together romantically, but will continue to dance together. Kevin explained that since they were honest about their relationship they have “unlocked our creativity."

The ballroom dancer added that they are still the best of friends, “We still have a lot of love and respect for each other.”

“We have such strong chemistry and it's about entreating and inspiring. At the end of the day, it's about giving back to fans. We're feeling very positive,” Karen shared.

Despite announcing their separation in March, Karen recently opened up about her marriage to the 35-year-old dancer. She told the Daily Mail Weekend Magazine that she has not given up on their relationship.

“I think the best thing, for now, is to behave like adults and take a break. He can go his way, take care of what needs to be taken care of, and I'll do the same,” she admitted.

"You never know what'll happen; maybe even in a couple of years… It's just that right now this is what we need,” the dancer added.

It has been rumoured that the Strictly Come Dancing team are hoping the pair will mend their relationship and reverse the Strictly curse.
