Kirstie Allsopp has spoken out about an incident with her children and their iPads and the reactions has been huge from other parents who either agree with Kirstie's actions or are appalled by the situation.
Kirstie appeared on Jeremy Vine's show where she revealed that she knocked the iPads against a metal leg of a coffee table after her two sons broke her rules about screen time.
Kirstie is mum to two boys, twelve-year-old Bay and ten-year-old Oscar wth her husband Ben Anderson.
She said that as a result of the smashed iPads, “The boys read more, created more, played more chess, watched more movies, and there were virtually no disagreements throughout the holidays.''

“Oscar spent the summer in plaster following a dirt bike smash that happened the weekend after they lost the iPads.''
However, the 47-year-old has been the subject of vicious online abuse from trolls who are no fans of her parenting techniques.
The TV presenter suspended her Twitter account in the wake of these comments although she did alter write that “if anything makes the case for keeping young people away from computer screens, it is the abuse I have received this week.''
A bit dramatic, but not unfair.

Locking it in a safe for a few months would probably have sent just as strong a message. Not smashing it helps to retain hope.
She continued, “The viciousness with which some people have responded is out of all proportion to the alleged offence.”
And as for the iPads?
“I have had them mended so we can access films and photos, but they will never be returned to the boys.”
While the reaction on social media has been mixed, we want to know - what do you think about it?
Did Kirstie do the right thing or was it an overreaction?
