They have been together for 19 years, and Louise and Jamie Redknapp are widely regarded as one of the most solid couples in showbiz. This is why so many people were shocked by recent reports that their marriage is in trouble.

No one was more taken aback by the rumours, however, than the couple themselves.

Louise opened up about the moment she and ex-footballer Jamie first heard the reports, which began circulating in April.

Speaking at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards earlier this week, she said: “It was surreal. Me and Jamie had just been out for dinner at Zuma, and we were in bed together when we saw on Sky that our marriage was in trouble.”

The couple, who are parents to 12-year-old Charley and eight-year-old Beau, have adamantly denied the claims – and Louise was very clear with her response to the Mirror.

“We’re great. Don’t worry about us, everything’s fine,” she said.

The rumour mill cranked into overdrive earlier this year, after Louise finished up her stint on Strictly Come Dancing. The show’s ever-popular accompanying tour dates took the mum-of-two away from home, while Jamie was kept busy with his football punditry.

While sources claimed that the distance was proving to be too much for Jamie and Louise, a representative for the couple shot down any suggestion that they were set to part.

The rep told the MailOnline: “Rumours of separation are completely untrue. Louise and Jamie are looking forward to a nice weekend celebrating.”

Indeed, Louise previously admitted that being on Strictly had actually boosted marital bliss.

“When I first started doing this show, I thought, Jamie – this isn’t going to be up his street. But I can’t get rid of him!” she said.

“It’s really nice to see someone you love extremely proud of you. It takes me back to 20 years ago, when we first met and I was on stage – all good things come from Strictly!”

Louise’s latest comments come just days after it was revealed that she will be taking on an exciting role in musical theatre. The former Eternal star is set to play Sally Bowles in a new production of Cabaret.

So, there you have it – Louise and Jamie are rock-solid.
