Meghan Markle has honoured Princess Diana in so many ways since meeting Prince Harry. The former actress has always spoken about her with such grace and respect.

Prince Harry has often gushed about how Meghan and his late mum would have been the greatest friends.

In an interview with Sky News, the Duke of Sussex said his wife and mum would have been “as thick as thieves” if she was still here today.

“She’d be over the moon for me, but she would have been best friends with Meghan,” he said.

Harry even ensured that Diana was part of this new chapter of his and Meghan’s lives by adding diamonds from Diana’s personal collection to her engagement ring.

“The little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewellery collection to make sure that she’s with us on this - on this crazy journey together,” he added.

Many people have commented on Meghan’s personable and down-to-earth nature, saying that she is like Diana in many ways.

She has a passion for helping others just like Diana did, as well as being kind and approachable.

Their likeable personalities aren’t the only thing Diana and Meghan have in common.

Meghan practices one very traditional hobby that was once adored by the ‘People’s Princess.’

The Suits star shared that she loves letter writing in an old blog post on The Tig. She expressed her love for traditional hobbies: “What trumps all is my love of writing (and receiving) a handwritten note."

“I absolutely relish it. A sweet letter. And that I will have the tactile experience of un-creasing the paper, reciting the words, and holding someone's thoughts in my hands,” she gushed.

Diana also loved the practice of writing letters. It is believed she replied to many of the thousands of letters her and Prince Charles received following their wedding in 1981.
