We've been gunning for a Spice Girls reunion mashed up with the royal wedding ever since Mel B's mysterious comments the other day, but now Mel C is saying that she thought Scary Spice was 'joking'.

Sporty Spice spoke about the royal wedding invites at a Prince's Trust award ceremony, an event celebrating young people who have overcome issues like drug addiction and homelessness.

"Oh yes there’s been quite a lot of press interest there, my invite hasn’t turned up yet. It was all that snow. I think the mail’s been a bit held up in the snow," the mum-of-one told the Irish Independent in relation to Mel B mentioning the supergroup's possible presence at the royal wedding.

On The Real the other week, Mel B said that all 'five Spice Girls' had received invites to the royal wedding.

Sporty Spice said of her former bandmate, "I think she was joking. I think the media ran with it a little bit.”

Not all hope is lost, though! Melanie Chisholm added, "There's still time."

In regards to the Prince's Trust Awards, Mel C, a long-term supporter of Prince Charles' charity, "I think it’s going from strength to strength. These things it’s always unfortunate we still need, but it’s an incredible thing.

“But the thing I’ve really noticed over the years is how the younger people that are helped, how they go on to help people in similar circumstances. It’s just a very positive thing that keeps evolving."

We love that sentiment. The heir to the throne delivered a speech about the admirable award winners on the night, saying, "Perhaps you can imagine just how proud it makes me to see what they’ve achieved against all the odds.

“And above all, I’m so enormously grateful to all those Prince’s Trust staff who help to motivate and inspire and encourage all these young people to overcome these enormous obstacles and barriers in their lives and make such a success – they are absolutely crucial."

This wouldn't be the first time Sporty Spice has rubbed elbows with royalty. The Spice Girls were invited to the Prince's Trust 21st anniversary concert in 1997, and Mel B and Ginger Spice infamously gave Prince Charles kisses at the event.

"I refrained from doing anything inappropriate today, but like I said to Charles the last time I saw him ‘It wasn’t me’ and he knows exactly who it was," the 44-year-old shared.

"It’s funny, actually, I was thinking about when the Spice Girls were invited to Highgrove to high tea way back, I think probably 1997-1998, and the princes were very young then, so we have very fond memories of them."

We hope they can make more fond memories at the royal wedding! Let's hope it was just the snow holding up her invite.
