Amid the bitter disappointment and heartbreak of his Olympics loss, the kind words of a five-year-old served up some much-needed comfort to boxer Michael Conlan.
No doubt many of you will remember that, shortly after his loss, Conlan was sent a letter from young Finn McManus.
In the letter, shared to social media by his aunt, Finn expressed his admiration of Conlan – and offered up his own school medal ‘because he is a winner’.
Well, last night, The Late Late Show made dreams come true as they arranged for the pair to finally meet!
In a photo shared by the show’s official Twitter account, Conlan can be seen posing with the young Finn, holding up his letter and medal.

The message referred to the fancy new set of boxing gloves that young Finn is sporting in the photo!
What a wonderful moment for them both; fair play to The Late Late Show for making it happen.
