Fans are important people to any star, but when one as talented as young Tipperary lady Maya comes along, it’s very special indeed.
While Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games premiered in Dublin tonight, this seven-year-old totally – and deservedly – stole the spotlight from iconic dancing legend Michael Flatley.
Flatley is Irish dancer Maya’s idol, and her ultimate wish was granted when she got to meet him – and even practice her high kicks with him – ahead of the show!
The special moment was all made possible by the wonderful Make A Wish Foundation, and Maya was even kitted out with a specially designed dress for the occasion.
Maya is not only talented, but she also knows that hard work and practice is essential for any budding dance star-to-be. Despite dealing with multiple medical issues, she continues to beat the odds, and practices Irish dancing every day after school. What an inspiration!
The photos say it all – Michael is just as much in awe of Maya as she is of him!
Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games, marking the 20th anniversary of Lord of the Dance, runs from 21st to 25th June at Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre.
